No. 1 — $2,500,000 · 500 Polo Ln, Wrightsville, Pennsylvania

The top sale of the week was a private estate in Lauxmont Farms, a community in Wrightsville, where the home at 500 Polo Lane sold for $2,500,000. The traditional home was built in 1996 on 17.95 acres. Its exterior is stone and stucco, finished with turrets, and the property has views of the Susquehanna River. At 5,469 square feet, it is the largest of the five homes. It has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, four full and one half, and garage space for seven cars, the most in the group.
The main-level kitchen has a two-level island with seating, a dining area and a wet bar, and a dumbwaiter runs from it down to the lower garage entry. A breakfast room with a fireplace is part of the kitchen as well. In a separate part of the home off the kitchen are an art room and an office with more of the views, along with a large walk-in pantry. The primary bedroom and its private bath are on the main floor, as are a living room, a formal dining room, an exercise room and a second office. Upstairs are two more bedrooms and two baths.
The finished part of the lower level has its own living room, a full kitchen, laundry, a full bath and a room that can serve as a bedroom or a game room. The unfinished side has a workshop, a cedar closet and storage.
Outside, the pool area off the main home is finished in travertine tile, and the pool itself is heated, fenced and saltwater. Around it are a cabana, a kitchen, a grill island, a seating area with a fire pit and a separate room with lockers and storage for swimmers. A court built for tennis and pickleball also has a basketball court, a building for equipment and a patio with its own fire pit. A private driveway behind the home leads to a two-story carriage house with a bathroom and an upstairs office, plumbed for a kitchen. Beside the carriage house, a picnic pavilion has a grill, a sink with hot and cold water and a fire pit, and a stone outbuilding next to it has a bathroom. Farther back are 15 flat acres with water lines in place, and the grounds even include a golf hole with a sand trap.
Anne M Lusk of Lusk & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent and also represented the buyer, so the same agent was on both sides of the week’s highest-priced sale, the only one in this Top 5 handled that way.

No. 2 — $1,375,000 · 702 Old Westminster Rd, Hanover, Pennsylvania

About 25 acres are tillable and planted in row crops. The rear of the farm has long been kept for wildlife, and whitetail deer return to it every year. There is a pond with bass and bluegill, a creek running through the valley and a second creek at the back with an artesian well in it. Up near the home, an original spring house marks where the farm first drew its water.
The farmhouse dates to 1900, making it the oldest of the five homes, and it was remodeled in 2007. It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, one full and two half, in 1,952 square feet. Outside is a large travertine patio. It has a built-in gas grill, and an outdoor structure on the patio pairs a gas fireplace with a waterfall. A second patio sits under a pergola. The three-car garage has 11-foot ceilings and is entered from the rear, which keeps garage doors off the front of the home.
