The group runs from a canal-front Cocoa Beach home built in 1960 to a Merritt Island villa finished in 2001, with stops along the way at a Spanish-style home in a gated beach community and a single-story ranch in Turtle Mound Ranchettes.
No. 1 — $2,600,000 · 9340 S Tropical Trl, Merritt Island, Florida

The week’s top sale is a villa on Merritt Island that sold for $2,600,000. Built in 2001 and modeled on the old villas of Florence and Venice, it sits on 2.24 acres that run from the Banana River on one side to the Indian River on the other, with 120 feet of shoreline on the first and 115 feet on the second. It has the largest lot and, at 4,267 square feet, the most living space of the five homes.
A custom wrought-iron gate opens onto a long drive under mature oaks, and a statue of Diana the Huntress stands on the grounds. The two-story home is solid concrete block finished in stucco and stone, with wrought-iron accents, copper gutters and a terracotta clay tile roof. Mahogany double doors lead into a foyer with black and white marble floors, an 11-foot ceiling and an Italian chandelier. Travertine and marble continue through the main living areas, and a large Renaissance-style mural, painted by hand, covers a wall of the dining room. Hand-painted azulejos from Spain line the kitchen backsplash. The kitchen’s island has its own prep sink, and the pantry, a walk-in, is entered through a Renaissance-style door.
The home has five bedrooms, three full baths and a half bath. The primary suite includes a sitting area and a private balcony decorated with hand-painted Spanish tile plaques, and a fresco-style painting surrounds the soaker tub in its bath. Outdoors, bougainvillea covers a loggia with twin pergolas beside the pool, which has a black bottom and Italian stone fountains. Walkways are laid in old Chicago brick, mango trees grow on the property, and a covered dock has a boat lift rated for 10,000 pounds. The property last sold for $390,000 in 2000, before the current home was built.
Stephanie Moss Dandridge and James Stephen Dandridge of One Sotheby’s International were the listing agents, and they also listed the week’s second-highest sale, giving their brokerage the top two spots in this Top 5. Dominique Mahler of Florida Homes Rlty & Mtg. LLC represented the buyer.
