A North Raleigh new build topped $5 million, and two Wake Forest homes changed hands at an identical price.

Raleigh, North Carolina Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Shadow Creek Estates New Build Leads at $5.2 Million

The five highest-priced home sales reported in the Raleigh, North Carolina, metro area for the week ending October 4, 2026, totaled $15.06 million. All five were in Wake County: two in Raleigh, two in Wake Forest and one in Cary.

Three of the five are new construction, and the group runs from a traditional brick estate on a golf course to a three-story Craftsman-influenced home on nearly two acres of woods.

No. 1 — $5,233,320 · 4909 Foxridge Dr, Raleigh, North Carolina

The week’s top sale comes from Shadow Creek Estates, a private community off Durant Road in North Raleigh where Loyd Builders is the designer, developer and builder. The community’s natural landscape takes in a creek and stands of pine trees, and its 31 estate homesites average 1.25 acres.

The home at 4909 Foxridge Drive was built in 2025 on one wooded acre with hardwood trees. It is a two-story traditional design finished in brick and fiber cement, with four bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 6,710 square feet of living space. The primary suite is on the main floor, and an elevator serves the home. The property last sold for $695,000 in 2024, before the current house was built.

An entrance foyer leads into an open floor plan with high ceilings, coffered ceilings, crown molding and built-in bookcases over hardwood floors. The kitchen, combined with the dining area, has an island, quartz and granite counters, a pantry and a butler’s pantry. A gas fireplace warms the family room.

Outdoor living is generous. The home has front and rear porches, screened space and a balcony, and the backyard plan includes an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill and a fire pit. The community has security.

The home went under contract the same day it was listed and sold for $5,233,320, which was $447,140 above its asking price of $4.79 million. Christina Valkanoff of Christina Valkanoff Realty Group was the listing agent, and Kendall Clark of Choice Residential Real Estate represented the buyer.

No. 2 — $3,325,000 · 4801 Rampart St, Raleigh, North Carolina

A French Country home by Dougher Development Company, shown in the 2026 Parade of Homes, sold for $3,325,000 at 4801 Rampart Street in the Six Forks area of Raleigh. The home is within walking distance of the North Hills Club, and its 0.31-acre lot backs up to about 11 acres of natural area and mature woods.

The two-story home, built this year, has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 5,437 square feet. The primary suite is on the first floor, with a spa-style bath and a large walk-in closet, and a separate guest suite on the same floor works for visitors or extended family. The property last sold for $595,000 in 2024, before the current house was built.

Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances and custom inset cabinetry fill the kitchen, and a scullery adds prep space and storage. The living areas open onto a porch enclosed with phantom screens, where a fully equipped outdoor kitchen makes the space usable in every season. The builder used aluminum-clad casement windows and full spray-foam insulation, and the custom front door is fitted with electrified privacy glass.

The home sold $75,000 above its asking price of $3.25 million. No. 3 — $2,750,000 · 304 Pond Bluff Way, Cary, North Carolina

In the Preston community of Cary, an all-brick traditional home from 1996 sits on a golf course lot at 304 Pond Bluff Way. It sold for $2,750,000. A circular driveway and landscaped grounds set off the front, and sliders from the family room open to a patio with an outdoor fireplace and wide views of the course.

The home has four bedrooms, six bathrooms and 5,771 square feet. Hardwood floors cover the main level, and the kitchen is built around an oversized island, with a Wolf gas range, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and two dishwashers. The primary suite has an updated bath and a very large walk-in closet. Off the suite, a private bonus room with back stairs down to the garage can serve as an office or a gym.

A room over the garage has its own full bath and a wet bar, along with surround sound speakers and prewiring for a movie projector and screen. The garage has space for four cars, the most of the five homes. Prestonwood Country Club, with golf, tennis, swimming and dining, is within walking distance. The property last sold for $120,000 in 1996.

The largest lot of the week, 1.90 acres of woods and hardwood trees in West Wake Forest, goes with a newly built home at 7636 Matherly Drive. It sold for $1,875,000. Built by 70×7 Homes LLC and designed by McMillan Designs, the home stands west of Capital Boulevard, about three miles from downtown Wake Forest, on a flag lot with room to park an RV or a boat. The property last sold for $600,000 in 2025, before the current house was built.

The three-story home blends Craftsman, modern and transitional styles in brick, stone and cement siding. It has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 5,975 square feet. Solid mahogany double doors open onto white oak floors laid in a herringbone pattern, and ceilings rise past ten feet on the main level.

In the family room, solid oak beams cross an 11-foot ceiling, and four-panel sliders lead to a covered porch with a Phantom retractable screen. A see-through fireplace on that porch is shared with the primary suite. The kitchen centers on an 11-foot quartz island with a waterfall edge, and it has a JennAir 48-inch gas range and a walk-in scullery with a grocery scuttle. A second bedroom suite for guests is also on the main level.

Wide plank hardwood floors run across the main level. The kitchen has floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, quartz countertops and GE CafΓ© appliances, among them a six-burner range, and it opens to a breakfast nook under a vaulted ceiling. The main-level primary suite includes a private office and a tray ceiling with boxed wooden beams. Its bath has a zero-entry shower, a freestanding tub and a floating dual vanity.

Floating shelves frame a direct-vent fireplace in the family room, and a slider leads out to a screened porch with Phantom screens and a stacked stone fireplace that runs from floor to ceiling. Three bedrooms, a bonus room and a media room fill the second floor. The community has a pool.
