No. 1 — $17,200,000 · 10271 W Loyola Dr, Los Altos Hills, California

Top home sale No. 1 in San Jose Metro Area, California — 10271 W Loyola Dr, Los Altos Hills, California, week ending October 25, 2026

The top sale of the week is a Los Altos Hills estate reached through two gated entrances. It sold for $17,200,000. The property spans two parcels and 2.25 acres, the largest lot among the five, and includes a main residence, a guest house and a pool house. Rick Bell Builders designed and built the main residence in 1992.

The two-story main home has six bedrooms, the most in this group, along with seven bathrooms, six full and one half, and 6,646 square feet of living space, also the largest. The interiors have high ceilings with coffered detailing, double crown molding and hardwood floors. A butler’s pantry serves the formal dining room. The living room has a dry bar and floor-to-ceiling windows, and French doors lead out to garden terraces. The kitchen is open to a family room with cathedral ceilings, skylights and a fireplace, and that room has French doors of its own to the grounds. The primary suite is on the first floor, with a gas fireplace and a walk-in closet.

A stone courtyard with fountains anchors the level grounds, which also have a greenhouse and a broad lawn. The heated pool has a black bottom, and there is a spa as well. For entertaining outdoors, the estate has a built-in barbecue and an outdoor fireplace. Parking is generous: an attached three-car garage, a detached two-car garage, a large motor court and electric-vehicle charging. Trails and the Los Altos Golf & Country Club are nearby.

The estate went under contract nine days after it was listed and sold $2.202 million above its asking price of $14.998 million. The Bogard-Tanigami Team of The Agency was the listing agent, and Heidi Herz of Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.

No. 3 — $7,201,000 · 979 Lawrence Ln, Palo Alto, California

Top home sale No. 3 in San Jose Metro Area, California — 979 Lawrence Ln, Palo Alto, California, week ending October 25, 2026

The newest home in this Top 5, built in 2026 in the Midtown neighborhood of Palo Alto, sold for $7,201,000. It is the only new construction among the five sales, a modern single-story home with five bedrooms and five full bathrooms in 3,460 square feet on an 8,400-square-foot lot. The bedrooms and baths include a junior accessory dwelling unit with one of each.

The living, dining and great room areas share one open space under high ceilings, lit by RH fixtures, with wide-plank hardwood floors and skylights. An oversized stone waterfall island is the centerpiece of the kitchen, which has custom cabinetry and integrated Thermador and Wolf appliances. Brizo faucets are used in the kitchen and in every bathroom. A covered porch and patio of 412 square feet adds room for entertaining outdoors, and the backyard is fenced.

The home is built for modern systems as much as for looks: three-zone heating and cooling, smart-home automation, solar panels, a security system and a built-in audio and video system. The property last sold for $3.2 million in 2024, before the current house was built.

There is a detached five-car garage, and the hiking trails of Foothill Park and Byrne Reserve are a few minutes away.

The estate went under contract five days after it was listed, the fastest of the week’s five sales, and sold just above its asking price of $7.095 million. Gary Campi of Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent, and Hong Xu of Marvel Realty represented the buyer.
