San Gabriel Valley–Pasadena, California Top 5 Home Sales: San Marino Colonial Leads at $8.7 Million

These are the highest-priced home sales reported in San Gabriel Valley–Pasadena, California for the week ending October 25, 2026. All five are two-story single-family homes in Los Angeles County, and together they sold for a combined total of $23.996 million.

The list belongs to the older neighborhoods of the area. A Colonial, a pair of English-style homes and a Craftsman are among them, and the newest was built in 1942. No. 1 — $8,700,000 · 1200 Virginia Rd, San Marino, California

Top home sale No. 1 in San Gabriel Valley–Pasadena, California — 1200 Virginia Rd, San Marino, California, week ending October 25, 2026

The week’s top sale came from San Marino’s Lacy Estates, where 1200 Virginia Road sold for $8,700,000. The Colonial-style home was built in 1939, and architect Ernest A. Bryant worked on it in 1948. It stands on 0.75 acres behind a gated entry, with live oaks around the approach and a circular driveway.

The home has six bedrooms and six bathrooms in 6,485 square feet, which makes it the largest home in this group, with the most bedrooms and the largest lot. Its formal and informal rooms have generous ceiling heights and built-ins, and there are fireplaces in both the living room and the library.

The grounds include a large, flat yard and a heated, fenced lap pool set in a garden, along with an in-ground spa. The property neighbors Thornton Gardens, the former Katherine Emery Estate, which was originally planned by architect Myron Hunt with landscape design by Florence Yoch and Lucile Council.

The home went under contract 15 days after it was listed. Timothy Di Prizito of Christie’s International Real Estate SoCal was on both sides of the sale, as the listing agent and as the buyer’s agent.

Built in 1942, 1476 Kensington Road in San Marino’s Library District is the newest home on this list, though most of what a buyer sees today is recent work. Top home sale No. 4 in San Gabriel Valley–Pasadena, California — 1714 Ramona Ave, South Pasadena, California, week ending October 25, 2026

The oldest home in this group comes with a story. The listing says the first owner of 1714 Ramona Avenue in South Pasadena was a dentist who saw patients in the parlor during Prohibition while running a speakeasy upstairs, reached discreetly from the backyard. The Craftsman was built in 1917, and an extensive remodel has kept its original woodwork.

A front porch opens into a formal living room framed by Philippine mahogany colonnades from 1917, with an inglenook fireplace finished in artisan tile. Double French doors lead to a two-story foyer with a checkerboard floor of Carrara marble. The kitchen has Monet Garden marble counters, a prep island and a six-burner Wolf range.

The home has five bedrooms and four bathrooms in 3,204 square feet. On the main floor, two bedrooms form their own wing, and both open through sliding glass doors to the rear deck. The primary suite is upstairs beneath exposed timber trusses from 1917, with a sitting lounge, an open dressing room and a bath with a deep soaking tub.

Behind the home, on a 9,251-square-foot lot, a raised deck with a retractable awning steps down to a paver terrace and a lawn shaded by a mature tree. A long driveway with an electric vehicle charger runs to a detached oversized garage with room for a workshop or studio. The property last sold for $2.036 million in 2025, and this time it sold for $3,350,000.

It went under contract 12 days after it was listed and sold above its asking price of $2.998 million. Yi Lien Lin of Pinnacle Real Estate Group was the listing agent, and Rosa A. Garcia of The Core Agency represented the buyer.
