
The five highest-priced home sales reported in the San Jose, California, metro area for the week ending October 4, 2026, totaled $30.215 million. All five are single-family homes in Santa Clara County, and they range from a home built in 1952 to one completed in 2019.
Los Altos had two of the five sales, and Palo Alto, Monte Sereno and Los Altos Hills had one each. Four of the homes are one story. Christie’s International Real Estate Sereno was the listing brokerage on three of them.
No. 1 — $6,750,000 · 563 Jefferson Dr, Palo Alto, California

The top sale of the week was also the oldest home on the list. The Traditional-style home on Jefferson Drive in the Duveneck – St. Francis neighborhood of Palo Alto was built in 1952, and it sold for $6,750,000.
It is a one-story home of 2,405 square feet with three bedrooms and two baths, the smallest of the five by living area. Hardwood and tile run through the rooms, and there are two wood-burning fireplaces. French doors connect the living room, the family room and the primary suite with the mature garden outside. A wine storage room is lined with built-in shelving. The lot measures 0.26 acres, with a fenced backyard and a patio, and the two-car garage is detached.

No. 2 — $6,700,000 · 1273 Windimer Dr, Los Altos, California

The Highlands of Los Altos are just a few blocks from a neighborhood entrance to Rancho San Antonio, a preserve of about 4,000 acres whose trails include Deer Hollow Farm. The home at 1273 Windimer Drive sits on a long cul-de-sac there, a few minutes from Downtown Los Altos and Los Altos Country Club, and it sold for $6,700,000.
A local Los Altos builder completed the home in 2008. At 3,713 square feet, it is the largest of the week’s five homes, and it also has the most bedrooms and bathrooms: five bedrooms, plus an office, along with four full baths and a half bath, all on one level. The ceilings are high, and formal living and dining rooms are kept separate from an open great room. The family room opens to an entertaining patio on the 0.38-acre lot. Outside there is an outdoor kitchen with a built-in barbecue, a gas fire pit, two pergolas and a lower patio, as well as a quiet spot set aside for reflection. The property last sold for $2.45 million in 2010.

The newest home of the week is a modern one-story home on One Oak Lane in Monte Sereno, completed in 2019. It sold for $5,615,000. The property last sold for $2.8 million in 2018, before the current home was built.
