San Diego Area, California Top 5 Home Sales: A La Jolla Hilltop Property Leads, With Two Sales in Coronado

The five highest-priced home sales reported in the San Diego Area, California for the week ending October 25, 2026 came to a combined $27.39 million. Four of the five are single-family homes and one is a condominium, and two of the sales were in Coronado. In two of the five, the same agent was on both sides of the sale.

No. 1 — $6,350,000 · 2954 Woodford Dr, La Jolla, California

Top home sale No. 1 in San Diego Area, California — 2954 Woodford Dr, La Jolla, California, week ending October 25, 2026

The week’s top sale was a hilltop property on the north side of La Jolla, a lot of 1.05 acres approached by a gently sloping drive and screened by mature landscaping. The height gives it views in every direction. To the west there is a stretch of ocean that takes in San Clemente and Catalina. Mount Soledad, downtown San Diego and Mexico lie to the south, and the eastern view reaches UTC, Miramar and East County. To the north are mountains, some of them snow-capped in winter.

The home is a Cape Cod style design with a wood exterior, built in 1970. It has five bedrooms, three full baths and one half bath, and 4,092 square feet of living space, along with an attached three-car garage. The kitchen has been updated with stone counters and custom cabinetry. The main floor is on one level, and above it is an upstairs suite that can serve as a separate apartment, with its own private entrance and a large deck. That upstairs space has a bedroom, a bath and a walk-in closet, plus its own kitchen, dining room, laundry and a living room that doubles as a library.

The property’s history shows on the grounds: an original horse barn survives from the early years, when this was home base for Rancho Soledad, a 40-acre ranch. The property last sold for $600,000 in 2012.

The home went under contract 17 days after it was listed. Eric T Chodorow and Peggy Chodorow of Berkshire Hathaway HomeService were the listing agents, and Timothy Nelson of Willis Allen Real Estate represented the buyer. Berkshire Hathaway HomeService also listed the week’s second-highest sale, in Coronado.
