No. 1 — $2,840,000 · 4752 W Lake Rd, Canandaigua, New York

Top home sale No. 1 in Rochester Area, New York — 4752 W Lake Rd, Canandaigua, New York, week ending October 25, 2026

The oldest home in this week’s group is also its most expensive. Built in 1868, the Victorian at 4752 West Lake Road in Canandaigua sold for $2,840,000. It sits on 2.87 wooded acres on Canandaigua Lake, with about 139 feet of shoreline facing south across Menteth Cove. The waterfront has a wade-in beach, deep water for boating, cobblestone walls, irrigated lawns and a lighted dock built of Ipe.

The boathouse has been reworked as a place to spend the day. Along with storage for a boat and kayaks, it has a bathroom, a covered outdoor kitchen with a grill and refrigerator, a lounge around a gas fire pit and a covered veranda on its upper level looking out over the lake.

Visitors arrive under a porte cochere, which was rebuilt along with the home’s covered porches. Inside, the 5,038-square-foot home keeps much of its nineteenth-century character: restored millwork, curved radius windows, sweeping staircases and a window seat set into the turret. There are three fireplaces and new hardwood floors. The family room has a large radius picture window, a game room rises two stories, and the updated kitchen has custom cabinetry, a Wolf range, a granite island with a prep sink, a breakfast bar and a walk-in pantry.

The home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, three full and one half. Upstairs, the primary suite faces the lake, and its bath has radiant heated floors, a soaking tub, a walk-in shower and a walk-in closet. A loft-style bonus room, a private guest suite, first-floor laundry, a whole-home generator and a three-car garage complete the property.

Danielle M. Clement of Tru Agent Real Estate was on both sides of the sale, listing the home and representing the buyer.
