No. 1 — $2,750,000 · 809 N Quaker Hill Road, Pawling, New York

Top home sale No. 1 in the Poughkeepsie-Newburgh metro area β€” 809 N Quaker Hill Road, Pawling, New York, week ending October 18, 2026

The week’s top sale was Farm Nord, a country estate in Pawling that sold for $2,750,000. It began in the 1700s as a dairy farm owned by the Taber family of Rhode Island, who kept it through five generations, and only a few families have owned it since. The farmhouse at its center was built in 1759 and sits on 11.71 acres of meadows, very old trees and stone walls, reached by a long gravel drive with sugar maples on either side. Hundreds of acres of conserved land border the property.

The restoration kept the wide-board wood floors, the long beams and five wood-burning fireplaces, one of them the original cooking hearth in the dining room. The home has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 3,600 square feet. Its kitchen was designed with a local craftsman and woodworker and has entirely custom cabinetry, DeVOL fixtures, La Cornue sinks and a dual Wolf range. A breakfast nook off the kitchen looks out through walls of French doors to an outdoor dining terrace and the gardens. Upstairs is a family room with tall vaulted ceilings, wood beams, a fireplace and built-in window benches, and beyond it an office with paneled walls, custom cabinetry and a skylight. The primary suite has a wing of its own and a hearth fireplace, while the other two bedrooms look over the meadows and share a bath with a claw-foot soaking tub.

The original barn has been restored under a cedar-shake roof and now has a workshop or studio, a gym and storage, with a fenced herb garden beside it. A small building in the hills above the home has been turned into a wood-burning sauna, and trails wind across the land. The property last sold for $2.3 million in 2023. The Metro-North station in the village of Pawling is about 10 minutes away.

Raj Kumar of Four Seasons Sotheby’s Int. was the listing agent, and Jen Harvey of Compass Greater NY LLC represented the buyer.
