No. 1 — $9,743,500 · 939 W Stafford Rd, Thousand Oaks, California

The week’s top sale was a newly built Modern home at 939 West Stafford Road in Thousand Oaks, which sold for $9,743,500. The home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, five full and one half, in 7,352 square feet. A gas fireplace warms the great room, and the floors mix hardwood, stone and carpet. A separate 1,200-square-foot guest house gives visitors or staff their own quarters.

Its original owners built it in 2004 on 2.37 acres in North Ranch Country Club Estates, a guard-gated community staffed around the clock, and it looks out toward the golf course and the mountains.
Each of the six bedrooms is a suite with its own bath, and two are on the main level. Handcrafted woodwork and custom millwork run through the rooms, under beamed and cathedral ceilings.
