A lakefront contemporary, a mid-century ranch in University Hill Farms and a hilltop home on more than four acres were among the week's priciest sales around Madison.

Madison, Wisconsin Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Lake Mendota Home in Middleton Leads at $1.8 Million

The five highest-priced home sales reported in the Madison, Wisconsin metro area for the week ending October 4, 2026, came to a combined $7.67 million. All five were single-family homes in Dane County, two in Middleton, two in Waunakee and one in Madison itself.

The group ranges widely in age and setting. The oldest was built in 1961 and the newest in 2021, and the list runs from a compact home on the water to a country property with wooded acreage. The third- and fourth-ranked sales closed at the same price.

No. 1 — $1,838,000 · 2800 Tomahawk Ct, Middleton, Wisconsin

The week’s top sale is a home on the shore of Lake Mendota, on a cul-de-sac in Middleton. It sold for $1,838,000. Built in 1987, the contemporary home has a stucco and fiber cement exterior, and large windows look out over the lake and bring daylight deep into the rooms.

At 2,648 square feet on a 6,534-square-foot lot, it is the smallest of the five homes, and it sits on the smallest lot. The space is put to good use. A great room with a vaulted ceiling rises two stories, and white oak floors run through the home. The kitchen has been updated with a Wolf range, a walnut island and marble countertops, along with a walk-in pantry. The home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and the primary suite includes an updated bath and a loft area. Outside, a Trex deck and a pier sit on a lake used for water skiing, and the Pheasant Branch Conservancy is a short walk away. A detached two-car garage is climate controlled. The property last sold for $775,000 in 2016.

Stone dresses the exterior of the two-story home, which stands on a 0.52-acre lot. Inside, a chef’s kitchen opens to a great room with tall windows, and hardwood floors run throughout. The primary suite is on the first floor, and a second bedroom with its own bath is upstairs, part of five bedrooms and five bathrooms in all: four full and one half. A back staircase, a mudroom, a private office and a large pantry round out the plan. There are at least three gas fireplaces and a whole-home sound system. The lower level, with full-size windows, includes a family room, a game room and a guest suite.

Behind the home, a screened porch, a patio and a fire pit look onto landscaped grounds and a private backyard. A three-car garage is attached. The property last sold for $920,000 in 2013.

Galena stone and redwood give the one-story home its character. A tiled foyer leads to a great room where a wood-burning fireplace of stone reaches from floor to ceiling, framed by corner windows. The kitchen has a breakfast nook, a built-in Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, double ovens and counters and backsplash of recycled glass. There is also a formal dining room and a den with built-ins that opens to the outdoors, and the laundry room includes a pet shower.

The property last sold for $512,500 in 2002.

Outside, an in-ground pool, a deck, a patio and a fire pit back up to a line of trees. The attached three-car garage has an electric-vehicle charger. The property last sold for $650,000 in 2011.
