A newly finished farmhouse-style home on nearly two acres, a riverfront condominium in Old Town and a five-acre French manor in Clifton led a week of large, mostly recent homes.

Northern Virginia Top 5 Home Sales: New Great Falls Farmhouse Leads at $6.95 Million

These were the five highest-priced home sales reported in Northern Virginia for the week ending November 1, 2026, and together they came to $19.788 million. The list spans five communities, from Great Falls and Clifton to Vienna, Alexandria and Arlington, and three of the homes are in Fairfax County.

Four are single-family homes, each on three levels, and the fifth is a single-level condominium overlooking the Potomac. All five date from 2008 or later, and the top sale is a new home completed this year, the only new construction in the group.

No. 1 — $6,950,000 · 796 Falls Farm Ct, Great Falls, Virginia

Top home sale No. 1 in Northern Virginia β€” 796 Falls Farm Ct, Great Falls, Virginia, week ending November 1, 2026

Brush Arbor Homes built 796 Falls Farm Court in Great Falls as a New American farmhouse, and the home, finished in 2026, is the newest of the week’s five. It sits on 1.82 acres behind tiered stone retaining walls and boxwood plantings, with a long drive leading up to it. The exterior pairs antiqued brick with slate-grey board-and-batten siding under a charcoal standing-seam roof, and large black-framed windows run across the front.

Inside are about 11,800 square feet on three levels, with six bedrooms, eight full baths and two half baths, and four fireplaces. Wide-plank European white oak covers the floors. A double staircase rises from the entry, and the main rooms include a formal dining room, a gourmet kitchen with an island and a butler’s pantry, and a family room open to the kitchen. There is a second kitchen and a bar as well, and the finished basement walks out to the grounds. The garage has room for four cars.

Behind the home, a heated saltwater pool and a raised, stone-edged spa are set into a bluestone patio. A covered pavilion clad in the same board-and-batten has a full outdoor kitchen, and a balcony on the second level looks down over the pool and the level lawn around it. The property last sold for $1.75 million in 2024, before the current house was built.

The home sold at its full asking price. Jennifer Harper Thornett of Washington Fine Properties, LLC and Micah A Corder of Washington Fine Properties, LLC were the listing agents, and Sherif Abdalla of Compass represented the buyer in the week’s top sale.

No. 2 — $3,995,000 · 225 Strand St #401, Alexandria, Virginia

Top home sale No. 2 in Northern Virginia β€” 225 Strand St #401, Alexandria, Virginia, week ending November 1, 2026

Unit 401 at 225 Strand Street is in Watermark, a 2020 condominium building on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront, and its windows look out over the Potomac River. From the living room the view takes in the Old Town waterfront, National Harbor and Washington, D.C., and a gas fireplace anchors the room.

The contemporary residence is on a single level, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,799 square feet, the smallest of the week’s five and the only condominium. An interior designer guided the finishes: wide-plank hardwood floors, ceilings of nine feet and more, custom millwork, Italian cabinetry and quartz counters. The kitchen has Thermador appliances, a large island and an eating area beside it, and a separate formal dining room overlooks Old Town and the river. The primary suite has a spa-style bath with a soaking tub, two walk-in closets and a dressing area. The second bedroom has its own bath, and both it and the third bedroom, now used as an office, open to a private terrace.

The unit comes with two assigned spaces in the building’s underground garage. Watermark residents share a rooftop terrace with grills, a fire pit and views of the river and the U.S. Capitol, and the building is a short walk from Old Town’s restaurants, shops, parks and trails.

No. 4 — $2,868,000 · 11846 Chapel Rd, Clifton, Virginia

Top home sale No. 4 in Northern Virginia β€” 11846 Chapel Rd, Clifton, Virginia, week ending November 1, 2026

The largest home of the week stands on five acres in the Union Mill area of Clifton. Built in 2008 in the French manor tradition, with Beaux Arts touches, 11846 Chapel Road has a brick-and-granite facade, granite imported from Spain and limestone railings, and its grounds back to trees. It has 17,489 square feet, seven bedrooms, nine full baths and two half baths, five fireplaces and a five-car garage, the most of any of the five on each count.

Ceilings rise to 20 feet in the living room and the family room, and Brazilian cherry hardwood runs through the main rooms, with tray ceilings and deep crown molding on the main and upper levels. A two-story library is topped by an art gallery. The primary suite is on the main level and covers more than 1,700 square feet, with two tray ceilings, a sitting area, a large walk-in closet and a bath with a steam shower, dual vanities and a jetted tub. The formal dining room has French doors to a front balcony, and the gourmet kitchen has a center island and a breakfast room. Each upstairs bedroom has its own bath, and three of them open to granite balconies.

The lower level is given over to fitness and entertaining: a 960-square-foot gym, a spa with a sauna and a steam shower that opens directly to the private inground pool, a wine cellar, a theater and several recreation rooms. The home is heated and cooled by a geothermal system paired with solar panels. The property last sold for $720,000 in 2004, before the current house was built.

No. 5 — $2,850,000 · 135 N Edgewood St, Arlington, Virginia

Top home sale No. 5 in Northern Virginia β€” 135 N Edgewood St, Arlington, Virginia, week ending November 1, 2026

What sets 135 N Edgewood Street apart in Arlington’s Lyon Park neighborhood is what lies behind it: the lot backs to an Arlington-owned park and trail, so the rear of the home looks into woods. Griffin Head built the transitional home in 2023, and it has five bedrooms, five full baths and two half baths in 5,544 square feet on three levels, on a landscaped lot of 6,910 square feet.

Floor-to-ceiling windows at the back of the main level face the trees. An office sits off the entry, and the formal dining room has a millwork accent wall. The kitchen has custom cabinetry, Miele appliances, a large island and a walk-in pantry, and it opens to a dining area and a family room. A screened porch off the living space sits above the yard. Upstairs, the primary suite has windows looking into the treetops, two closets and a bath with a freestanding soaking tub and a large tiled walk-in shower, and each of the three other bedrooms on that floor has its own bath.

The lower level is almost entirely at grade, with a family room built around a fireplace and a wet bar, the fifth bedroom, a full bath and doors out to a deck facing the yard and the park. A finished office and studio with its own entrance and powder room adds space for working from home. The property last sold for $2.8 million in 2023.

The home went under contract 22 days after it was listed. Anna Mackler of Serhant and Barak Sky of Serhant were the listing agents, and Natalie Roy of KW Metro Center represented the buyer.
