The five highest-priced home sales reported in the Valparaiso-Michigan City & Dunes Area, Indiana for the week ending November 1, 2026 came to a combined $6.69 million. Valparaiso followed with a pair of homes completed this year, and La Porte closed out the five with a property on an inland lake. Three of the sales were in Porter County and two in La Porte County.
No. 1 — $1,800,000 · 711 E Lake Front Dr, Beverly Shores, Indiana

The week’s highest-priced sale was a contemporary lakefront home on Lake Front Drive in Beverly Shores, which sold for $1,800,000. It stands on a wooded dune with views out over Lake Michigan, in the Frederick H Bartletts Lake neighborhood, and the property lies within Indiana Dunes National Park.
Inside, tall expanses of glass and hardwood floors define an open plan built around the water. The kitchen, with its island, looks out to the lake and opens to the dining and gathering spaces on the main level. The primary suite and the guest bedrooms are upstairs, where the windows take in the water and the dunes, and a lower level adds living quarters and flexible space. Outdoors there are view decks and a screened porch.
Built in 1996, the home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 3,563 square feet of living space, with an attached two-car garage. Its 0.74 acres were put together from three combined parcels, and the wooded grounds are private. Beach parking for Beverly Shores residents is by permit at marked spots along Lake Front Drive, the South Shore Line is easy to reach, and Chicago is less than an hour away. The property last sold for $885,000 in 2016.
The home went under contract 13 days after it was listed and sold just above its asking price. Lesley Sweeney of Encore Sotheby’s International was the listing agent, and Heidi Picard of @properties/Christie’s Intl RE represented the buyer.

No. 2 — $1,580,000 · 1909 Lake Shore Dr, Long Beach, Indiana

The interiors are tall and bright, with cathedral and vaulted ceilings, walls of glass and an open floor plan. The kitchen has an island and granite counters and runs into the main living areas, and a fireplace warms the family room. An in-law floor plan adds flexibility. The home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and 2,932 square feet, along with a heated attached garage for two cars. Its 5,998-square-foot lot, the smallest of the five, has a private, wooded yard, a deck and both front and rear porches.

No. 5 — $925,000 · 747 Waverly Rd, La Porte, Indiana

The land is the story at 747 Waverly Road in La Porte, which sold for $925,000. The property has 130 feet of frontage on Pine Lake and 1.5 acres of mature trees, the largest lot in this week’s Top 5.
