Angola & Northeast Indiana Lakes, Indiana Top 5 Home Sales: Fremont Lake Home Leads at $2.1 Million

Lake living set the tone for the highest-priced home sales reported in Angola & Northeast Indiana Lakes for the week ending November 1, 2026. Four of the five homes sit on the water, from all-sports lakes to a small private lake with a 10 mph speed limit, and the fifth stands on nearly 19 acres with its own pond. The five sales came to a combined $6.42 million.

Four of the homes are in Steuben County, two of them in Angola, and one is in Noble County. They range from a home built in 1900 to a custom home finished in 2021.

No. 1 — $2,099,000 · 948 S Clear Lake Dr, Fremont, Indiana

Top home sale No. 1 in Angola & Northeast Indiana Lakes β€” 948 S Clear Lake Dr, Fremont, Indiana, week ending November 1, 2026

The top sale of the week is a lakefront property on Clear Lake that is unusually large for the shoreline it sits on. The home at 948 S Clear Lake Dr in Fremont has 50 feet of frontage, and its 4.37 acres take in six lots: a parcel of about a fifth of an acre beside the water and a back lot of more than four acres with rolling hills, mature fruit trees and a barn. A detached garage and a pole building add room for boats and lake equipment, beyond the attached one-car garage.

The shoreline is level, so the yard runs to a swimmable beach without steep slopes or long flights of stairs. A dock and a pontoon lift are at the water, and a deck looks out over the lake.

The cottage-style home was built in 2005 and has 3,006 square feet, five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Inside, the kitchen, dining area and great room share one open, window-lined space, with a fireplace in the living area. Built-ins line the dining area, which opens directly to the backyard on the water. The primary suite is on the main level and has two walk-in closets; the other four bedrooms are upstairs.

The home sold for $2,099,000, its full asking price, after going under contract one day after it was listed. Alison Rhinehart of Regan & Ferguson Group was the listing agent and also represented the buyer, so the same agent was on both sides of the sale.

No. 2 — $1,220,000 · 700 Lane 210 Hamilton Lk, Hamilton, Indiana

Top home sale No. 2 in Angola & Northeast Indiana Lakes β€” 700 Lane 210 Hamilton Lk, Hamilton, Indiana, week ending November 1, 2026

In Island Park on Hamilton Lake, the home at 700 Lane 210 Hamilton Lk is the largest of the week’s five, with 5,160 square feet across three finished levels. Jim Ingledue Construction built it in 2007, and it was featured in that year’s Parade of Homes. The design is Craftsman with an English accent, meant to recall an older cottage.

Hardwood runs through most of the main level. The kitchen has furniture-style cabinetry with a matching beadboard backsplash, granite counters and a breakfast nook that opens to a deck on the lake side. The living room rises to the second level around a stone gas fireplace and leads out to a screened porch facing the water. The primary suite is also on the lake side, with two closets, a soaking tub and a separate shower.

Upstairs are two guest bedrooms and a bunk room. The walkout lower level has a family room with a second gas fireplace, a wet bar, a sewing room and another guest bedroom, and it opens to a covered patio. The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms in all. Outside, a concrete seawall edges a sandy beach, and the lakefront has sunrise views.

Island Park owners share a shaded green at the center of the community with courts for basketball, volleyball and shuffleboard. Hamilton Lake itself is a golf-cart community with a town park, shops and restaurants.

Barbara Hendrick of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group was the listing agent. The home went under contract seven days after it was listed and sold for $1,220,000, its full asking price.

No. 5 — $950,000 · 1640 S 100 E, Angola, Indiana

Top home sale No. 5 in Angola & Northeast Indiana Lakes β€” 1640 S 100 E, Angola, Indiana, week ending November 1, 2026

The oldest home of the week dates to 1900, and its setting is unlike any of the others. The property at 1640 S 100 E in Angola covers 14.56 acres with 1,800 feet of frontage on a private 31-acre lake. Swimmers use a firm gravel area, boats are held to 10 mph, and the water suits kayaking and fishing for walleye, perch, bass and bluegill. A private, winding driveway leads in from the road to a broad front porch facing the water.

Previous owners remodeled and enlarged the traditional home, and the current owners updated it extensively in 2022 and 2023. The listing describes beveled-glass French doors reclaimed from a governor’s mansion, alongside an iron staircase imported from Ireland, several stained-glass windows and an Irish pub with original stonework walls. The dining room keeps its original exposed beams and hardwood floors, and the living room has a vaulted ceiling, a fireplace and doors to a deck over the front lawn.

The kitchen has new granite counters, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, two ovens and a gas cooktop, and it opens to a breakfast nook overlooking the pool. A family room with a second fireplace and a sunroom lie beyond. The primary bedroom is on the main level, with a remodeled bath, and French doors from it lead to a den that opens onto the pool area. The home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and 4,232 square feet.

Outside, the in-ground pool is surrounded by synthetic decking, with two gazebos and an outdoor bar nearby. A bank barn has horse facilities, and one of two pole buildings has a two-bedroom apartment on its second floor. There is also a playhouse and a playground.

The property sold for $950,000. Linda Mynhier of RE/MAX Results was the listing agent, giving the brokerage its second listing in this Top 5, and Lisa Schrock of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Elkhart represented the buyer.
