Diablo Valley–East County, California Top 5 Home Sales: A Spanish-Style Home in Orinda’s Wilder Leads at $3.7 Million

Orinda and Lafayette each claimed two of the five highest-priced home sales reported in Diablo Valley–East County, California for the week ending November 1, 2026, and Walnut Creek had the fifth. All five are single-family homes in Contra Costa County, and together they sold for $15.82 million.

The group spans six decades of building, from a 1956 custom home on a level lot in Orinda’s Glorietta district to a Spanish-style home completed in 2016. In between are a farmhouse on nearly two and a half acres, a French country home with the largest floor plan of the five and a contemporary home set on almost an acre in the Lafayette hills. Compass agents listed the two top-priced homes.

Top home sale No. 1 in Diablo Valley–East County, California — 26 Coffee Berry Ln, Orinda, California, week ending November 1, 2026

The newest home in this week’s Top 5 is a Spanish-style Davidon design in Wilder, the Orinda community known for its Quarry House clubhouse, fitness center, pool and roughly 1,300 acres of preserved open space and trails. Built in 2016 with a stucco exterior, the two-story home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 4,239 square feet on a level, landscaped lot of 0.39 acres, along with an office near the entry and a three-car garage.

The kitchen is fitted with Thermador appliances, a large island and a walk-in pantry, and it opens to a great room with a fireplace under tall ceilings. Wide-plank hardwood runs through the main rooms, and the formal dining room is finished in hand-painted Fromental wallpaper. The primary suite sits on the main level, with a fireplace of its own, two walk-in closets and a door straight out to the backyard. Upstairs, a loft and a long balcony are surrounded by the other four bedrooms, three of them with private baths.

Outside are an outdoor kitchen, a fireplace, a play area and several places to dine and gather. The home also has owned solar panels, Tesla Powerwalls and EV charging. The property last sold for $2.59 million in 2017.

Amanda Kilpatrick of Compass was the listing agent, and the home went under contract 12 days after it came on the market, then sold for $3,745,000, $150,000 above its $3.595 million asking price.
