No. 1 — $3,089,953 · 2850 Andora Ct, Bishop, Georgia

Top home sale No. 1 in Athens Area, Georgia β€” 2850 Andora Ct, Bishop, Georgia, week ending October 25, 2026

The week’s top sale is a home that does not exist yet. The property at 2850 Andora Court in Bishop sold for $3,089,953: a level 6.44-acre site on a cul-de-sac inside the gated Andora community, with plans for a two-story brick residence.

The plans call for five bedrooms, four full baths and a half bath in 4,500 square feet. Three of the bedrooms are planned for the main level, and the primary suite is on that level too. The design includes beamed and vaulted ceilings, a wet bar, two fireplaces, walk-in closets and custom cabinetry.

Much of the planning went into the outdoors. A 20-by-40-foot pool is to sit at the center, with a covered porch of about 1,200 square feet looking out over the pool and the grounds beyond it, and an outdoor kitchen for cooking and entertaining.

The property went under contract the same day it was listed and sold for $42,737 more than its asking price of $3.05 million. Madison Thompson of Ansley RE|Christie’s Int’l RE was the listing agent.

No. 2 — $803,000 · 2007 Tallassee Rd, Statham, Georgia

Top home sale No. 2 in Athens Area, Georgia β€” 2007 Tallassee Rd, Statham, Georgia, week ending October 25, 2026

At 2007 Tallassee Road in Statham, the land is the story. The home sits on 8.02 private acres, the largest lot in this week’s group, behind a gated entrance with fencing that runs the full length of the property. The land includes pasture, and the property has a barn and other outbuildings.

The one-story Craftsman-style ranch, built in 2019, has three bedrooms, two full baths and a half bath in 2,248 square feet. A rocking-chair front porch leads to a foyer and a great room with built-in cabinetry and a fireplace trimmed in shiplap. The kitchen has granite counters, an oversized island and a walk-in pantry. The bedrooms are split, so the primary suite has a wing of its own, with a soaking tub, a tiled shower, two vanities and a large walk-in closet; the other two bedrooms share a full bath on the opposite side.

Out back, a covered patio looks onto a heated, saltwater in-ground pool and spa measuring 17 by 32 feet, set in roughly 1,200 square feet of pavers. There is also a detached workshop of 1,500 square feet with three bays, spray-foam insulation, and its own heating and cooling, with room for boats, tractors or a hobby. There is no homeowners association.

The home went under contract five days after it was listed and sold for $803,000, just above its $799,900 asking price. Jody M Swords of Southern Classic Realtors was the listing agent, and Angelica Stan of Drake Realty, Inc. represented the buyer.

No. 5 — $660,000 · 1880 Sycamore Cir, Watkinsville, Georgia

Top home sale No. 5 in Athens Area, Georgia β€” 1880 Sycamore Cir, Watkinsville, Georgia, week ending October 25, 2026

At 1880 Sycamore Circle in the Willow Creek neighborhood of Watkinsville, the view from the kitchen island is of woods. The two-story traditional home, a Lennar Fairmont plan built in 2025, sits on a 0.34-acre lot on a creek and has five bedrooms, three full baths and a half bath in 2,932 square feet. Below it is a full unfinished basement of about 2,900 square feet with its own outside entry.

The owners spent the first year changing it. Designer lighting went in throughout, from a chandelier in the dining room to pendants over the island and a living room fixture that needed scaffolding to hang. The half bath was redone with a new vanity and wallpaper, and the windows got custom Roman shades. Outside, zoysia grass now covers the front, sides and back, the backyard was pushed out nearly 30 feet, ornamental iron fencing with gates opens to a cleared wooded buffer, and the lower patio was enlarged to fill the covered area under the deck.

The home is within walking distance of the neighborhood pool, clubhouse and pickleball courts, and a short drive from Butlers Crossing, Oconee Veterans Park and Herman C. Michael Park.

The property last sold for $611,250 in 2025. It went under contract five days after it was listed and sold for $660,000, $10,000 above its asking price. Allen Seigler of Greater Athens Properties was the listing agent, and James W Thaxton of Coldwell Banker Upchurch Realty represented the buyer.
