The five highest-priced home sales reported in Central Shenandoah Valley, Virginia for the week ending October 25, 2026 had a combined total of $2.7 million. All five were single-family homes, and each was in a different community: McGaheysville, Rockingham, Waynesboro, Harrisonburg and Grottoes.
Prices ran from $499,900 to $625,000, and the homes behind them were very different. Two of the five were built this year, one is a remodeled brick ranch, and the other two are older homes in Harrisonburg and Grottoes.
No. 1 — $625,000 · 10275 Dalmatian Dr, McGaheysville, Virginia

The week’s top sale was a new home in The Ponds, a McGaheysville community with walking trails, a playground and a picnic area for residents. The home at 10275 Dalmatian Drive was completed in 2026 and sold for $625,000.
It is a ranch with stone and vinyl siding on the outside and an open plan inside. Oversized windows in the living room take in views of the mountains, and the kitchen and dining area run together around a large island with quartz counters and a pantry. From there a door leads out to a covered composite deck. Luxury vinyl plank floors run through the home.
The primary suite is on the main level, with a double vanity and a walk-in closet, and two more bedrooms share that floor. A fourth bedroom has a full bath of its own and could just as easily serve as a guest room, an office or a gym. The home has four bedrooms, three baths and 2,240 square feet on a landscaped 0.32-acre lot, with an attached two-car garage that faces the side.
Cave Hill Brewery is within walking distance, and Brix & Columns Vineyard and Massanutten Resort are a short drive away. Harrisonburg is about 15 minutes off.
Julie Katykhin of Real Broker LLC was the listing agent for the week’s highest-priced sale, and Katie Krivosheyev of Old Dominion Realty Inc represented the buyer.

No. 2 — $550,000 · 4634 Shen Lake Dr, Rockingham, Virginia

The sellers of 4634 Shen Lake Drive in Rockingham designed a renovation of their 1964 brick ranch and hired Gary Crummett & Sons Construction to build it. Seen through the trees from the road, the home now has white-painted brick and black trim.
Inside, the kitchen is new, with granite counters, soft-close cabinets and a tile floor, and the primary suite was enlarged to take in a private full bath. Hardwood and luxury vinyl plank cover the floors. The walk-out basement gained a rec room, two bedrooms, a full bath and an oversized laundry room. In all, the home has five bedrooms, three baths and 2,296 square feet.
Out back, a large patio steps down to a private pool, and the level 0.82-acre lot has mature trees, a shed and room left over for a garden. A one-car garage and a carport handle the parking.
The home sold for $550,000. It last sold for $410,000 in 2024.
It went under contract 29 days after Brant Suter of Nest Realty Harrisonburg listed it. Pete Hill of Funkhouser Real Estate Group represented the buyer.

No. 3 — $529,000 · 2524 Belvue Rd, Waynesboro, Virginia

In the Silver Creek neighborhood of Waynesboro, 2524 Belvue Road is one of two homes in this Top 5 built in 2026. The property last sold for $80,000 in 2025, before the current home was built, and it sold this week for $529,000.
The one-level ranch is finished in Hardie plank siding with stone accents. Ceilings rise high over an open plan with hardwood floors, and the kitchen, with matte granite counters, an island and a breakfast bar, opens to the living areas. A gas log fireplace warms the main room.
All three bedrooms are on the main level, including a primary suite with a double vanity and a walk-in closet. The home has two baths and 2,277 square feet, plus a bonus room above the oversized two-car garage. Below is a full walk-out basement, still unfinished and bright with daylight, roughed in for a kitchen or bath later on.
A covered porch across the back looks over a level 0.27-acre lot with no neighbors behind it, and the street out front sees little traffic.
CHARITY COX of PAUL WESLEY REAL ESTATE was the listing agent, and HEATHER BROGDEN of KLINE & CO. REAL ESTATE represented the buyer.

No. 4 — $500,000 · 316 N High St, Harrisonburg, Virginia

The oldest home in this Top 5 stands at 316 North High Street in Harrisonburg’s Collicello Corridor, less than a mile from James Madison University in the downtown area. It was built in 1920 and sold for $500,000.
On the smallest lot of the five, at 7,405 square feet, it also has the most bedrooms, six, and the most living space, 2,384 square feet over two stories. There are two full baths and a half bath, along with an unfinished basement. An alley at the rear gives the home off-street parking, which is not a given this close to downtown.

No. 5 — $499,900 · 14512 S East Side Hwy, Grottoes, Virginia

The largest lot among the five, 1.01 acres in Grottoes, goes with a Cape Cod at 14512 South East Side Highway. Built in 1942, the home sold for $499,900, its full asking price, and went under contract 14 days after it was listed.
The primary suite is on the main floor, with two bedrooms and a full bath upstairs. The kitchen has Corian counters, stainless steel appliances and plenty of cabinets. Behind the home, an inground pool is set in sealed concrete with room around it for gatherings.
A detached studio adds a self-contained guest suite, with a bedroom, a full bath, a kitchen, a living room and a covered porch of its own. Across the property there are four bedrooms and four baths, three full and one half, with 1,707 square feet of living area.
Parking is generous for a home of this size: two garages with room for four cars between them, heated and wired, each with a 30-amp RV hookup. A generator serves the whole property.
Angela Dove of Massanutten Realty was the listing agent, and John Doughty of Kline May Realty represented the buyer.
