Four of the five are one-story homes with three-car garages. Their ages span more than six decades, and three of them sit in named neighborhoods: Brimhall Estates, Haggin Oaks and Olde Stockdale.
No. 1 — $1,275,000 · 13827 Faringford Ln, Bakersfield, California

The newest home on this week’s list is also the most expensive. The custom home at 13827 Faringford Lane, built in 2022, sold for $1,275,000. It sits on a cul-de-sac inside Highgate Shires, a double-gated community, on a lot of 0.33 acres.
The single-story plan has three bedrooms and four bathrooms, along with a private office. A formal living room and a large great room provide the main living space, and a game room offers another place to gather. The home also has a mudroom and a wine room. Out back, an in-ground pool and an outdoor kitchen set up the yard for entertaining. The home has solar power and a three-car garage.
The property last sold for $165,000 in 2021, before the current home was built.

Both bathrooms were remodeled and the kitchen was updated. New floors and new light fixtures run through the home, which was painted inside and out. Outside, the work extended to new flatwork and new landscaping. The home has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,256 square feet over three stories, with a fireplace and a two-car garage, on a corner lot of 0.28 acres.
Olde Stockdale is a neighborhood of mature trees and established homes, with quick access to shopping and dining. The property last sold for $620,000 in 2020.
