Urban Honolulu, Hawaii Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Kahala Area Home Leads at $8.4 Million

Two homes in the Kahala Area, a Waikiki penthouse, a canal-front home in Kailua and a North Shore property in Haleiwa made up the week's top sales.

Urban Honolulu, Hawaii Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Kahala Area Home Leads at $8.4 Million

These were the five highest-priced home sales reported in the Urban Honolulu, Hawaii metro area for the week ending October 4, 2026, and together they totaled $26.665 million. Three of the five were in Honolulu, with one in Kailua and one in Haleiwa. Four were single-family homes and one was a condominium, and the group spans nearly four decades of construction, from a home built in 1970 to one completed in 2009.

No. 1 — $8,375,000 · 4612 Aukai Ave, Honolulu, Hawaii

Top home sale No. 1 in the Urban Honolulu, Hawaii metro area β€” 4612 Aukai Ave, Honolulu, Hawaii, week ending October 4, 2026

The week’s top sale was a two-story Kahala Area home at 4612 Aukai Avenue, which sold for $8,375,000. Built in 2007 and since remodeled, it has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, five full and one half, and 6,129 square feet, the most living space among the five sales. The property last sold for $4.5 million in 2020.

The main floor is laid out for entertaining. A formal sitting room, a large living room and an open kitchen with a custom bar all open to a covered lanai arranged for formal dining. Two of the bedrooms are on this level and step directly out to the backyard, where there are an in-ground pool and spa, a level lawn and several places to sit. One of those bedrooms is fitted as a gym with a sauna. Upstairs, the other three bedrooms share a second living room of their own.

The home also has a dedicated office, custom closets, built-in cabinetry and shelving, and an electric-vehicle charger. Kahala Beach and Waialae Country Club are a short distance away, as are the neighborhood’s shops and restaurants.

No. 2 — $5,640,000 · 223 Saratoga Rd, Honolulu, Hawaii

In second place, a penthouse at Ka Laβ€˜i Waikiki Beach Resort, 223 Saratoga Road, sold for $5,640,000. The building, formerly Trump Tower Waikiki, is part of Hilton’s LXR Hotels & Resorts collection. The residence’s most striking space is outdoors: a rooftop lanai of about 1,500 square feet with a private swimming pool, a spa and a barbecue area, open to views of the ocean, the coastline and the sunset.

Inside, the penthouse has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,173 square feet under 10-foot ceilings, with hardwood and marble floors. It sold furnished, with Art Deco-inspired pieces. Separate lanais open off the living room and the primary bedroom, and the primary suite includes a Japanese hinoki soaking tub and a private steam sauna. Built in 2009, it is the newest of the week’s five homes. Residents can use the resort’s in-room dining, housekeeping, concierge and valet services.

No. 3 — $4,950,000 · 559 Ahina St, Honolulu, Hawaii

A second Kahala Area home, at 559 Ahina Street, sold for $4,950,000 after going under contract 14 days after it was listed. The single-story home, built in 2006, has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, four full and one half, and 4,009 square feet, with its rooms divided into two wings for privacy. Its exterior combines stone, concrete and wood framing, and the floors are hardwood, marble and carpet. The lot is level and cleared, and the property has an in-ground pool, landscaping and a two-car garage. The property last sold for $3.58 million in 2006.

The oldest home in the group, built in 1970, is on a canal in the Beachside neighborhood of Kailua, a short distance from private gated access to Kailua Beach. The home at 118 Kailuana Place sold for $4,000,000. Its canal frontage comes with a private boat mooring for kayaking, paddleboarding and boating.

The single-story home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,642 square feet in an open plan with engineered hardwood floors. The primary suite has an attached den, the bathrooms are finished in limestone tile, and the home has central air conditioning as well as split-system units. Outside are a covered lanai and a generous backyard, and the home also has owned solar panels and a two-car garage. The property last sold for $2.799 million in 2021.

The home went under contract six days after Monique L Hsia of Corcoran Pacific Properties listed it, and it sold at its full asking price. Chelsey Nicole Wall of Compass represented the buyer.

Top home sale No. 5 in the Urban Honolulu, Hawaii metro area β€” 59-65 Kumupali Rd, Haleiwa, Hawaii, week ending October 4, 2026

On the North Shore, in the Sunset Area of Haleiwa, the property at 59-65 Kumupali Road sold for $3,700,000. Its grounds are planted with mature fruit trees, among them mango, banana, avocado, citrus, papaya and ulu, along with macadamia nut, and there is a chicken coop. The beach and the bike path can be reached without a car.

The main home, built in 1994 and since remodeled, has ocean, sunset and garden views. Below it are ample storage and a flex space now used as an art studio. A detached accessory dwelling unit with one bedroom and one and a half baths stands separately on the property. In all, the property has six bedrooms, the most among the five sales, along with six bathrooms, four full and two half, and 2,176 square feet of living area.

Lyndsey Gordon of Real Broker was the listing agent, and the home went under contract 24 days after it was listed. Spencer Klein of HomeSmart Island Homes represented the buyer.
