Syracuse, New York Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Skaneateles Lakefront Home Sells for $4.60 Million

The 1960 house at 3159 E Lake Rd occupies 124 feet of level, private frontage on Skaneateles Lake, less than two miles from the village center, with a lawn that runs from the back of the residence down to the water. It was one of five home sales reported across the Syracuse, New York metro area between September 21 and September 27, 2026, a group that accounted for $8.07 million.

The week’s transactions reached Skaneateles, Cazenovia, the Seneca Knolls area of Baldwinsville and the Boulder Heights neighborhood of Jamesville, and the houses behind them range from an 1890 Colonial to a 2021 custom build. The five-bedroom house at 3159 E Lake Rd, built in 1960 and holding a reported 2,906 square feet and three baths, closed on September 24, 2026 for $4.60 million. Its 124 feet of level, private shoreline sits less than two miles from the heart of Skaneateles village.

Large windows frame the water from rooms throughout the house, and hardwood floors run through nearly every one of them. A wood-paneled den serves as a smaller retreat off the main floor, while the living room is built around a wood-burning fireplace set in a stone surround with a mantel. The formal dining room carries a coffered ceiling, detailed moldings and an original wood-burning fireplace, and a corner wood-burning fireplace warms the family room on the north side. The galley kitchen keeps its traditional layout.
