No. 1 — $5,500,000 · 3300 Newark St NW, Washington, D.C.

Top home sale No. 1 in Washington, District of Columbia β€” 3300 Newark St NW, Washington, D.C., week ending November 1, 2026

The Dutch Colonial at 3300 Newark Street NW in Cleveland Park was built in 1920 and thoroughly reworked about a century later. It sold for $5,500,000, the top price of the week. The brick, stucco and cement-sided home stands on 0.34 acres, the largest lot among the five, and a central flagstone walk and a private driveway both lead to it.

Hudson Gray Design handled the interiors, and the plan follows a classic center hall. The formal living and dining rooms sit on either side of the foyer, both papered in Phillip Jeffries wallcoverings. The living room takes in light from three sides and has a gas fireplace set between lighted built-ins, while a butler’s pantry links the dining room to the kitchen. Window seats with custom cushions turn up in rooms across the home.

The back of the main floor opens into one large kitchen and family room. The kitchen has a 48-inch Viking range, a custom sculptural hood, gold fixtures and a big island topped in thick quartz, with a quartz slab running up the backsplash. The family room has a second gas fireplace and a glass wall that folds away completely onto a multi-tiered deck.

The home has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 5,414 square feet. Upstairs, the primary suite has two custom dressing rooms and a Carrara marble bath with a freestanding tub and heated floors, and three more bedroom suites share that level. The finished lower level has a recreation room, another bedroom suite, a mudroom with a dog-washing station and access to the attached two-car garage. A heated screened porch and a covered lower-level terrace look out over grounds designed by Richardson & Associates Landscape Architects, which slope down to a flagstone patio with a gas fire pit. The property last sold in 2020 for $4.95 million.

Nicole Terry and Daniel M Heider of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty were the listing agents, and the home went under contract 26 days after it was listed. Eileen McGrath of Washington Fine Properties, LLC represented the buyer.
