Under Oak, a French Norman Revival estate set on a 2.27-acre double lot in Washington’s American University Park, sold for $8.75 million, the highest-priced home sale publicly reported in the Washington, D.C. metro area for the week ending August 9, 2026. Together the week’s five leading closings accounted for $27.29 million in Washington-area real estate.

The sales span American University Park, Kalorama, Alexandria, Luxmanor and Boyce, recorded across the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. Build years on record run from 1905 to 2026, and the group ranges from a newly completed Rockville house to a 224-acre farm along the Shenandoah River.
