The five highest-priced home sales reported in the Salisbury, MD-DE metro area for the week ending October 18, 2026, were all in the Delaware beach towns of Sussex County: two in Bethany Beach, two in Dewey Beach and one in Rehoboth Beach. Together they came to $24.36 million.
Monument Sotheby’s International Realty listed the top two sales, and Jack Lingo – Rehoboth listed two of the others.
No. 1 — $7,400,000 · 40220 Sugar Hill Rd N, Bethany Beach, Delaware
The week’s top sale was an oceanfront home in Sea Del Estates, a gated community in Bethany Beach, which sold for $7,400,000. It was designed by the architect Robert Gurney, FAIA, and it stands above the Atlantic dunes, with a private beach and views of the ocean.
Built in 2014, the home is Contemporary and Mid-Century Modern in style, and its spare exterior combines fiber cement board, stucco and wood. Wood slats along the south side and the lower levels bring in the sea breeze, and a stairwell on the west side lets in light without the heat. The home was built on a mix of existing and new pilings, an arrangement that enlarged its building envelope within DNREC coastal regulations.
Inside, the floors are reclaimed walnut and the millwork is painted white. The kitchen has white flat-panel cabinets and a full set of Miele appliances, including a built-in coffee system, and the fixtures throughout come from Hans Grohe and Graff Designs. The principal living spaces all look out to the Atlantic.
The three-story home has about 4,200 square feet, with six bedrooms, two of them on the main level, and four bathrooms, three full and one half. It sits on a quarter-acre lot on a cul-de-sac, and the community has tennis courts, a jogging path and a playground.

No. 2 — $4,511,500 · 7 Sand Dunes Dr, Dewey Beach, Delaware
Silver Lake Dunes, in Dewey Beach, is an enclave of six homes at the end of E. Lake Drive, and its residents share a private beach. This home is one home away from that beach, and nearly every room looks out over Silver Lake. The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is within a walk or a bike ride. The listing says the family that built the home was offering it for sale for the first time.
Built in 1997 in a Transitional style, the home has an inverted floor plan that gives the guest bedrooms a level of their own. The main level is one open living space under a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, with the original pine floors, a fireplace, the kitchen and almost a full wall of sliding glass doors facing the lake. On the other side of the home, the primary suite has a sitting area with a fireplace and a balcony at one end and, at the other, a large walk-through closet and a bath with a soaking tub, a double vanity and a separate shower. The suite also has its own deck with a hot tub.

Outdoors there are sun decks, a large screened porch and a roof deck for watching the sun rise and set. The 7,059-square-foot corner lot is on a cul-de-sac.
The home went under contract seven days after it was listed and sold for $4,511,500, which was $516,500 above its $3.995 million asking price. No. 3 — $4,510,000 · 10 Chicago St, Dewey Beach, Delaware
In Rehoboth By The Sea, on the north side of Dewey Beach, this ocean-block home stands three homes from the Atlantic and about 150 feet from the dune crossing. It was built in 2018 in a Coastal style. It has the largest living area of the five, about 4,800 square feet, and the most bedrooms and bathrooms: nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, nine full and one half.
An elevator serves all three levels. Five of the bedrooms are on the entry level and one more is on the main living level, while the third floor has three bedrooms, each with its own bath, and a den. The open floor plan has hardwood floors and a living room with a gas fireplace.
The kitchen is set up for a crowd, with an oversized island, two dishwashers, two microwaves, a Miele refrigerator and freezer, a second refrigerator and an ice maker. Beside it are a dining area and a sunroom with a ping-pong table and a pool table. A covered front porch and a large open deck take in the ocean views, and outside there is a heated in-ground pool with a patio and an outdoor shower.
The home went under contract four days after it was listed and sold for $4,510,000, above its asking price of $4.25 million. No. 4 — $4,490,000 · 107 Central Blvd, Bethany Beach, Delaware
The newest of the five, this Coastal-style home in Baltimore Hundred was completed in 2022, a short walk from the beach, the boardwalk and the shops and restaurants of downtown Bethany Beach. The property last sold for $1.2 million in 2020, before the current home was built.
The home is sided in factory-finished NuCedar, the grounds have landscaping and custom hardscape, and plantation shutters are used throughout. White oak floors run through the home. The front entrance is on the second floor, where the kitchen and living room share one open space. The kitchen has quartz counters and an oversized island, and the living room has a fireplace. That floor also has a guest bedroom and a mudroom by the rear entrance and stairway, and a large screened porch looks over downtown Bethany.
The top floor has two more guest bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, along with an office or flex room and a second porch. From the primary suite, which has a private balcony and an outdoor shower, there are glimpses of the ocean. An elevator runs to every level. The two-car garage on the ground level is conditioned and is now used as a home gym, and the backyard has a fenced, heated saltwater pool.
In all, the home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms in about 2,700 square feet, on a 4,792-square-foot lot, the smallest of the five. It went under contract one day after it was listed and sold for $4,490,000, its full asking price. No. 5 — $3,450,000 · 1001 Scarborough Avenue Ext, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
On the shore of Silver Lake, inside the Rehoboth Beach town limits, this home is five blocks from the boardwalk across the Turtle bridge. Built in 1962, it is the oldest of the five, and its 0.49-acre lot is the largest. A 2023 renovation took the home back to the studs and reconfigured the floor plan to make the most of the water, and walls of windows look out over the lake.
