A custom mountain home on 1.63 acres in South Lake Tahoe sold for $3.60 million, the highest-priced residential sale publicly reported in the Sacramento, California metro area for the week ending August 16, 2026. The week’s five highest-priced reported sales came to $12.79 million combined.

The five sales are spread across South Lake Tahoe, Carnelian Bay, English Colony in Penryn, Coyote Ridge Estates in Auburn and Silverwood West in Granite Bay. The top two closings are both in the Lake Tahoe area, one on the north shore and one on the south. Build years run from 1988 to 2016, and lot sizes run just as wide, from a half-acre cul-de-sac parcel in Granite Bay to roughly 33 acres in Penryn.
