Realtors Property Resource (RPR) Wins PropTech Breakthrough Award

Realtors Property Resource, the data and technology subsidiary of the National Association of Realtors, has won a 2026 PropTech Breakthrough Award, taking the “Real Estate Analytics Platform of the Year” category, NAR announced Aug. 13, 2026.

The recognition comes from PropTech Breakthrough, an independent market intelligence organization now in its sixth year of running an annual awards program for real estate technology companies. According to the organization, entries are judged by an independent panel of real estate and technology professionals against six criteria: innovation, performance, ease of use, functionality, value and impact. Submissions first go through eligibility and compliance screening before advancing to full evaluation. This year’s program named winners across dozens of categories spanning property management, vendor management, commercial analytics and AI tools, with RPR’s win specific to the analytics-platform category.

RPR is best known to Realtors as the free data and valuation tool NAR provides to its roughly 1.5 million members. The platform gives agents access to data on more than 166 million residential and commercial properties, or about 99% of the U.S. housing stock, according to NAR. In 2025, the company said, 540,000 unique users logged roughly 18.4 million sessions on the platform, and more than 10,400 brokerages, representing over a quarter-million agents, are enrolled in RPR’s broker tools network.

The feature NAR highlighted in its announcement is an editable comp search tool RPR added this year, which lets agents adjust search parameters and property facts for comparable sales while an AI system automatically rescores the resulting comps. NAR framed the addition as an example of RPR’s broader approach to AI: pairing its nationwide property database with automation while keeping agents in control of the final analysis, rather than handing them a black-box valuation.

“Our members are at the center of how we innovate at RPR,” RPR CEO Jeff Young said in the announcement. “Their needs shape how we evolve the platform and what we prioritize, ensuring new technology translates into practical tools that make their work more efficient and help them better serve their clients.”

The award lands about a week after RPR named Emily Line as chief strategy officer and Janine Sieja as chief product officer, two newly created executive roles. Sieja, who previously led RPR’s product group through a website and mobile app overhaul and data-quality upgrades, now oversees the team responsible for features like the editable comp tool that underpins this award.

What it means

For Realtors, the award itself changes nothing about how RPR works day to day β€” it’s outside recognition for a tool most NAR members already have free access to. The more relevant signal is what it confirms about direction: RPR is leaning further into AI-assisted analytics rather than building AI tools that replace agent judgment, a positioning that mirrors what other real estate technology vendors are pursuing. Brokerages adopting AI operating platforms from third-party vendors face a similar question of how much decision-making to hand to automation versus keeping agents in the loop.

What to watch: whether RPR’s new product leadership under Sieja ships additional AI-assisted features beyond comp search in the coming months, and how the platform’s usage numbers β€” engaged sessions and broker enrollments β€” trend as NAR continues to push RPR as a member benefit amid competition from paid analytics tools marketed directly to agents and brokerages.
