Rochester, New York Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: 1880 Canandaigua Property Tops the Week at $975,000

Two renovated homes, a pond and a heated pole barn share that single Canandaigua parcel, and the sale headed a week in which the five highest-priced reported home sales in the Rochester metro area combined for $4.35 million.

The five sales span Canandaigua, Fairport, Webster, Victor and Walnut Hill in Pittsford, with build years running from 1880 to 2000. Beyond the Canandaigua leader, this week’s Rochester real estate list takes in a Tudor-style house in Fairport, a lakefront home with 310 feet of frontage in Webster, a Victor property with an in-ground pool and wine cellar, and a Pittsford home that closed above its final asking price.

No. 1 — $975,000 · 4765 Seneca Point Rd, Canandaigua, New York

At 4765 Seneca Point Road, a white farmhouse with a first-floor in-law suite and a separate blue ranch house stand on one parcel. The property, which carries a recorded build year of 1880, closed on September 8, 2026, for $975,000, the top price among the Rochester metro area’s reported home sales that week. The record lists eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a reported 7,324 square feet.

Both homes have been fully renovated as high-efficiency houses with open floor plans, plenty of natural light and views across the grounds, and the second story has seasonal lake views. The land includes a pond bordering the future Onanda Park Trail, in a setting of bluffs, mature trees, a ravine, waterfalls and the trails of Barnes Gully, with access to groomed trails nearby.

A heated pole barn with spray-foam insulation and an electric-vehicle charger provides storage, and an updated barn that can serve as a hobby studio overlooks the pond. Care of the land has included removing dead ash while keeping the mature trees in place. The property previously changed hands for $400,000 in 2016.
