Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Wayzata Lakefront Home Leads at $6.5 Million

These were the five highest-priced home sales reported in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area for the week ending October 11, 2026, and together they came to $20.37 million. Wayzata accounted for two of them, with the others in Prior Lake, Edina and Stillwater, and three of the five were in Hennepin County.

The group ran from a 1992 home on Lake Minnetonka to two newly built properties, one of them a condominium near downtown Wayzata. Four of the five were single-family homes, and in two of the sales the same agent was on both sides.

No. 1 — $6,500,000 · 2740 Gale Rd, Wayzata, Minnesota

Top home sale No. 1 in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area β€” 2740 Gale Rd, Wayzata, Minnesota, week ending October 11, 2026

It is known as The Cozy Nook. The home at 2740 Gale Road in Wayzata sits on 1.32 acres in the Woodland neighborhood, with 173 feet of shoreline on Lake Minnetonka facing west, so the lake views take in the evening sun. The property last sold for $750,000 in 1990, before the current home was built.

The architecture takes its cue from the Cape Cod style. Inside, the ceilings are vaulted and crossed by exposed beams, with whitewashed details, stained glass and broad walls of windows. On the main floor, the living room opens to an informal dining area, the kitchen and a three-season porch, all turned toward the lake. The kitchen has handmade Mexican tile and a large center island. There is also an office with a view of the water, a studio, and a primary suite with raised views of the lake.

The home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, three fireplaces and 6,002 square feet of living space. Its walkout lower level adds a second full kitchen, another office, a bunk room and generous space for guests or extended family. Outside are decks, a patio under a pergola, a wide lawn and a private dock, along with a four-car garage and a storage shed.

The home went under contract two days after it was listed and sold for $6,500,000, the highest price of the week. Geoffrey D Bray of Engel & Volkers Minneapolis was the listing agent with Lindsay Bacigalupo, who also represented the buyer for Engel & Volkers Minneapolis, putting the same agent on both sides of the sale.
