The five highest-priced home sales reported in Long Beach–Gateway Cities, California for the week ending November 1, 2026, came to a combined $8.43 million. All five are single-family homes in Los Angeles County, and together they make a varied set: postwar homes in the Whittier hills, a canal-front home and a restored Cliff May Rancho in Long Beach, and a newer home in a gated hillside community in Signal Hill.
No. 1 — $2,031,000 · 8355 La Sierra Ave, Whittier, California

The top sale of the week was a completely renovated estate in the Friendly Hills area of Whittier, which sold for $2,031,000. Set on a secluded 0.54-acre lot on a cul-de-sac, it has the largest lot on this list, and at 4,599 square feet it is also the largest home in the group.
The home was built in 1956 and is traditional in style. It has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, four of them full and one a half bath, along with an open floor plan, a formal dining room and an entrance foyer. Beamed and cathedral ceilings and two-story ceilings give the main rooms height, and both the living room and the family room have fireplaces. Wood and tile run underfoot. The kitchen has granite counters, a breakfast bar, a pantry and stainless steel appliances, and there is a wet bar for entertaining. A loft includes a home office.
An attached guest suite has its own living area, giving the home a separate place for in-laws, extended family or long-term guests. The property has a bedroom on the main level and more than one staircase.
Behind the home, the backyard has an in-ground pool and terraced landscaping, and the outdoor spaces include a covered lanai, a deck and a patio. The property has views of the city lights. A private drive leads to a rear-facing two-car garage, and there is room to park an RV. The property last sold for $1.4 million in 2015.
