Indianapolis Area, Indiana Top 5 Home Sales: Meridian Hills Home Leads the Week at $2.1 Million

The five highest-priced home sales reported in Indianapolis Area, Indiana for the week ending October 25, 2026, totaled $6.96 million. All five homes are in Indianapolis, and they span more than a century, from a Victorian built in 1900 to a waterfront ranch built in 2004. Only $15,000 separated the top two sales, and the third- and fourth-ranked homes sold for the same $950,000.

No. 1 — $2,100,000 · 7440 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, Indiana

Top home sale No. 1 in Indianapolis Area, Indiana — 7440 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, Indiana, week ending October 25, 2026

The Meridian Hills home that led the week was built in 1940 and has been expanded and reworked over the past five decades, with help from designers both local and national. Some of the changes were small, such as walnut trim in place of oak and newer, more contemporary light fixtures. Others reshaped the home: the footprint grew, and the screened porch was moved to the rear.

The kitchen, renovated recently, was designed by Fu Tung Cheng of Cheng Design. A skylight brings daylight into the room, which has a Gaggenau gas range, an integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator and countertops of concrete and stainless steel, and a passthrough opens it to the great room. That great room, at the back of the home, has a vaulted ceiling and a bronze fireplace. The rear of the home also has a sunken family room with space for a pool table and a home theater. What was once the formal living room is now a library, with large windows looking out over the front grounds.

The brick home has five bedrooms, four of them on the main level, along with four bathrooms and 6,885 square feet of living space. The primary suite includes a private office, a sitting and dressing area and a custom closet, and its bath has a steam shower, a garden tub and heated tile floors. There is also a sauna. The grounds cover 1.16 acres, the largest lot in this week’s Top 5, with mature trees, a patio and a fountain, and the landscape is the work of the father-daughter team of Frits Loonsten and Suzie Reese.

The home went under contract 13 days after it was listed and sold at its full asking price of $2,100,000. Matt McLaughlin of F.C. Tucker Company was the listing agent, and Mary Wernke of Encore Sotheby’s International represented the buyer. F.C. Tucker Company also listed the No. 3 sale this week.
