These were the five highest-priced home sales reported in High Country, North Carolina for the week ending November 1, 2026, and together they came to $11.105 million. Three of the homes are in Avery County and two are in Watauga County, spread across Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, Linville and Sugar Grove.
All five are two-story single-family homes, most of them in a mountain style, and all were built between 2000 and 2020. Their settings range from a third of an acre inside a gated resort community to more than eight acres of open land with a stream and a barn.
No. 1 — $3,300,000 · 76 Sundance Court, Banner Elk, North Carolina

The top sale of the week was a contemporary home in The Lodges At Eagles Nest in Banner Elk, which sold for $3,300,000. Built in 2020, it is the newest of the five, and it went under contract the same day it was listed.
The wood-sided home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms (four full and one half) and 4,153 square feet of living space on 1.67 acres. A stone fireplace burns propane, the basement is finished, and an attached two-car garage completes the picture. The property last sold for $325,000 in 2018, before the current home was built.
Amy LaBarre and Allison Schoen of Elevate Land & Realty Banner Elk were the listing agents, and Allison Schoen also represented the buyer, so the same agent was on both sides of the sale. Elevate Land & Realty Banner Elk had two listings in this Top 5, the No. 1 and No. 3 sales.

No. 2 — $2,950,000 · 478 Country Club Drive, Blowing Rock, North Carolina

On Country Club Drive in Blowing Rock, a short walk from the Blowing Rock Country Club, its golf course and the club’s Lake House, a Craftsman-style mountain home in Country Club Estates sold for $2,950,000. From the property there are views of the golf course and the mountains, and downtown Blowing Rock is a few minutes away. Club membership did not come with the home.
The home, built in 2006, has been extensively renovated. The kitchen was redone with new cabinets, quartzite counters and new appliances, and the bathrooms were rebuilt with new tile, cabinets set at a comfortable height, and updated tubs and showers. The primary suite gained further work on its bath and closets. Indoors, a gas-log fireplace warms the living space; outside, a new patio laid in large stone has a stone fireplace of its own.
Living is concentrated on the main level, and the upper level has a sitting room and the remaining bedrooms. No. 3 — $1,830,000 · 95 Autumn Blaze Court, Banner Elk, North Carolina

Known as Mountain Vistas, the No. 3 home is the second of the week’s sales in The Lodges At Eagles Nest in Banner Elk. It sold furnished for $1,830,000. On 0.35 acres it has the smallest lot of the five, and its 3,749 square feet make it the smallest home as well, but it borders a community septic lot and a lot that cannot be built on, which gives it more room around it than the lot size suggests.
The 2019 mountain-style home opens into an open living area under cathedral ceilings, with tall windows facing long-range mountain views and a stone fireplace at its center; there is a second fireplace elsewhere in the home. The kitchen has quartz counters, a subway-tile backsplash, stainless appliances, a wine refrigerator and a large island, and a deck with a grilling area sits just off it. The primary suite is on the main level, with its own balcony and bath, along with a mudroom and laundry.
Upstairs is a bedroom with a full bath and an office. The lower level is given over to a game room with a pool table and a card table, a flex room that can serve for fitness, and two more bedrooms, each with its own bath. A lower deck has a hot tub, and a fire pit sits near the front entrance. The home has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, four full and one half. The property last sold for $1.51 million in 2021.
The home went under contract four days after it was listed. Allison Schoen of Elevate Land & Realty Banner Elk, who was also on both sides of the week’s top sale, was the listing agent, and Sean Spradling of the same brokerage represented the buyer.

At the end of the Grouse Moor Drive cul-de-sac in Linville Ridge, a mountain-style home in Linville sold for $1,550,000. The listing puts the home at an elevation of 4,400 feet, and it looks out toward Grandfather Mountain.
Built in 2000, it is the oldest of the five homes, and with 6,089 square feet it is also the largest. It has four bedrooms and six bathrooms, five full and one half, the most of the group, on 1.36 acres. The home was designed to sit into the terrain and its native plantings, finished in stone and wood siding, and has been maintained by the builder who put it up. The great room shows the craftsmanship most clearly, with exposed beams, a tongue-and-groove ceiling and a stone fireplace, one of two in the home. A paved driveway leads to a two-car garage.
Residents may apply to join The Linville Ridge Club, which has golf on the mountaintop, tennis, pickleball, a pool and several places to dine.
The home went under contract 20 days after it was listed. Steve Lambert of Elk Valley Properties was the listing agent and also represented the buyer, so the same agent was on both sides of the sale.
