No. 1 — $1,450,000 · 14408 NW 50th Place, Alachua, Florida

The top sale of the week was a $1,450,000 estate in Foxridge, a gated community in Alachua. The main residence has a second gated entrance of its own, and the drive curves around a fountain before reaching the two-story brick home, which was built in 2004. At 8.96 acres, the property is the largest of the five, and the home also leads the group with eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms and 7,227 square feet of living area.
The formal living room rises two full stories. On one side of it are an office, a guest room that could serve as a nursery and the primary suite, which is on the main floor and has two walk-in closets. Its remodeled bath has separate vanities, a frameless glass shower and a freestanding tub with windows all around. The kitchen, on the other side, has Sub-Zero and KitchenAid appliances and is ringed by living and dining areas. Upstairs are a loft, a third living room and three more bedrooms, each with an updated bathroom of its own, a walk-in closet and French doors opening to a private terrace. The home has close to 100 windows.
Outside, a saltwater pool with cascading waterfalls has a separate hot tub. A penthouse apartment over the three-car garage has its own entrance as well as a door into the main home. On the far side of the property, out of view of the main home and reached from a private road, is a separate cottage-style residence with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a two-car garage and nearly 1,500 square feet. Its wraparound front porch looks out at farmland across the street. The property also has barns and a workshop.
