No. 1 — $3,700,000 · 5051 Beach Rd, Troy, Michigan

Top home sale No. 1 in the Detroit, Michigan metro area — 5051 Beach Rd, Troy, Michigan, week ending October 4, 2026

The top sale of the week is a 2015 raised ranch on 3.72 wooded acres in Troy, designed by Young & Young Architects and built by TSA. Finished in cedar and stone, it has 7,900 square feet, the largest of the five homes. It is also LEED-certified, with solar power and geothermal and radiant heating.

On the main level, vaulted cedar ceilings rise over floors of white oak and heated porcelain, and floor-to-ceiling glass brings in daylight. The kitchen has quartzite counters, built-in appliances and a prep pantry, and it opens to the dining area and a built-in nook. Windows line the primary bedroom, which has its own deck, and the suite includes a large closet and a vaulted bath with a soaking tub and a spa shower. A second suite is also on the main level.

The walk-out lower level is where the home entertains: a full bar, a living area and a fireplace share the space with a temperature-controlled wine cellar. Three more bedrooms are down there too, along with a fitness room built around a saltwater lap pool. Outside, an aggregate patio, a firepit and a sauna sit among gardens on rolling ground. An additional 1,600-square-foot dwelling, with a kitchen and a loft, can serve as an office, a studio or guest quarters. Parking for six cars is split between an attached four-car garage, with ceilings tall enough for a lift, and a detached two-car garage. The property last sold for $3.5 million in 2024.

Dan A Gutfreund of Signature Sotheby’s International Realty Bham was the listing agent, and Katherine E Broock of Max Broock, REALTORS®-Birmingham represented the buyer. The home went under contract 24 days after it was listed and sold for $3,700,000. Gutfreund also appears further down this week’s list, representing the buyer of the No. 4 home in Bloomfield Hills.
