Lakefront homes and rural acreage made up the highest-priced home sales reported in Detroit Lakes & Lakes Country, Minnesota for the week ending November 1, 2026. The five sold for a combined $4.65 million. Two of them are in Detroit Lakes, and the others are in Menahga, Park Rapids and New York Mills, spread across Otter Tail, Becker and Hubbard counties.
The homes range from one built in 2014 to a log home dating to 1920, and from a lot of less than half an acre to more than 67 acres of woods. In three of the five sales, the same agent was on both sides of the transaction.
No. 1 — $1,447,500 · 50201 Fish Lake Way, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

The top sale of the week is a Craftsman-style walk-out home in Provan Beach, on Big Pelican Lake in Otter Tail County. Built in 2014, the one-story home sold for $1,447,500 and went under contract 16 days after it was listed.
A stacked-stone gas fireplace anchors the main-floor living area, which also includes a sunroom and an office. Off the kitchen and dining area, a three-season porch opens to wide views of the water, and transom windows bring light into every room. A large family room on the lower level has floor heat, and the attached two-car garage has a heated epoxy floor of its own. The home has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,926 square feet of living space.
The home faces west, toward evening sunsets over the lake, and the 0.57-acre lot sits on a quiet cul-de-sac. A paver patio and walkway lead to a new dock, and the beach has a hard sand bottom. Maples, pines, lilacs and flowering Ivory Silk and Red Splendor trees surround the property, and an underground irrigation system waters the grounds and perennial gardens. A front porch looks out over the yard and a meadow.
Steve Koleno of Beycome Brokerage Realty LLC was the listing agent, and Monica Kaiser of Counselor Realty Detroit Lakes represented the buyer in the highest-priced sale of the week.

The lower level walks out toward the lake, and the property has south-facing views and a sandy lake bottom. In Menahga, a two-story home in the Engels Pleasant View neighborhood on 2nd Crow Wing Lake sold for $712,500. The level lakefront lot covers 0.94 acres, which makes for easy access to the water, and the home has panoramic views.
Built in 2005, the home has 2,809 square feet, four bedrooms and four bathrooms, the most bathrooms of the five sales. No. 4 — $640,000 · 35726 Dinner Lake Loop, Park Rapids, Minnesota

The oldest home in this Top 5 began its life far from Minnesota. The log home in Park Rapids dates to 1920 and once stood in the eastern United States, where it was taken apart and trucked to Minnesota. It was then reassembled over a modern foundation of insulated concrete forms, with updated systems and Pella windows.
Huge logs define the interior, along with a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. A covered porch and a deck are outside, and the full basement is partly finished, with daylight windows and walk-out access. The home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,400 square feet, and the property also includes a guest house and a storage shed.
It sold for $640,000 and has the largest lot of the five, 67.49 acres of heavy woods that include half of the shoreline of a private lake. The owners kept yaks, and a fenced corral and extensive fencing remain on the land.
Justin G Clack of Keller Williams Realty Professionals was the listing agent and also represented the buyer, putting the same agent on both sides of the sale.

No. 5 — $450,000 · 51692 385th St, New York Mills, Minnesota

Along a country road in rural New York Mills, minutes from Perham, a one-story home on 10 acres sold for $450,000. Built in 2009, it has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,900 square feet, with an open plan, large windows, nine-foot ceilings and a gas fireplace. The kitchen has oak cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a big walk-in pantry, and the primary suite includes a walk-in closet and a large bathroom with a double sink.
Much of the appeal is outdoors. The land is suitable for horses and already has a 30-by-30-foot horse barn with a hydrant, along with a pole building. A heated four-car attached garage includes a workshop area, and the home has a covered front porch. The backyard overlooks a creek bottom where deer and turkey are plentiful. The property last sold for $208,500 in 2024.
Trisha Satter of Trilogy Real Estate was the listing agent and also represented the buyer, so the same agent was on both sides of the sale.
