Two townhouses in historic districts and three single-family homes in Bellona-Gittings, Callaway-garrison and Mount Washington made up the week's top sales.

Baltimore City, Maryland Top 5 Home Sales: Federal Hill Historic District Townhouse Leads at $990,000

The five highest-priced home sales reported in Baltimore City, Maryland for the week ending October 25, 2026 came to a combined $3.595 million. Prices ran from $990,000 down to $490,000, and every sale was in the city of Baltimore.

The group spans more than a century and a half of building, from the 18th century to the 1950s. It takes in brick townhouses in the Federal Hill and Fells Point historic districts, a renovated Cape Cod, a six-bedroom Colonial and a Mount Washington home built around its backyard.

No. 1 — $990,000 · 37 Birckhead St, Baltimore, Maryland

Top home sale No. 1 in Baltimore City, Maryland β€” 37 Birckhead St, Baltimore, Maryland, week ending October 25, 2026

The top sale of the week was 37 Birckhead Street in the Federal Hill Historic District, a brick townhouse that sold for $990,000. Its past is tied to Baltimore’s carriage trade. The listing says period directories place A. Mackenroth & Son, a firm of carriage makers, wheelwrights and blacksmiths, at Birckhead and Marshall Streets by the early 1900s, and that the building was later used to repair carriages.

A 2014 renovation turned that industrial space into a home of 3,610 square feet. Heavy timber beams and three-course brick walls remain, and they make room for interiors that run 30 to 50 feet wide. The home has four bedrooms, each with its own bath, and six bathrooms in all: four full and two half baths. Ceilings rise above nine feet, and the floors are hardwood and ceramic tile.

The main level is open, with the kitchen, dining area and living space running together. The kitchen has professional-grade appliances, an oversized island and a large pantry. One bedroom with a full bath sits on this level and can serve as a guest suite or an office, and sliding glass doors lead out to an enclosed courtyard.

Upstairs are the three remaining bedrooms, among them the primary suite with a large walk-in closet. The same level has a second family room with a gas fireplace, a big wet bar, a laundry room and a half bath. Above, two rooftop decks add about 1,200 square feet of outdoor space, looking out over the downtown skyline, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. An attached two-car garage sits on the 2,925-square-foot lot. The property last sold for $937,000 in 2019.

James M. Baldwin and Emily Sarah Turner of Compass were the listing agents, and Jim Gunsiorowski of Cummings & Co. Realtors represented the buyer in the top-priced sale of the week.

In Mount Washington, 5721 Ridgedale Road sold for $490,000. The traditional frame home, built in 1945, stands on a winding street lined with trees, and much of its appeal is outdoors.
