Antares Labs launched publicly on July 28, 2026 with a $7.25 million seed funding round to build custom AI systems for large real estate owner-operators, according to the company’s press release. The round drew investment from proptech-focused venture firm Fifth Wall, along with Base10 Partners, Bloomberg Beta and Sandwith Ventures.
The Chicago-headquartered company, led by CEO Noaman Ahmad, takes a different approach than many proptech AI vendors: rather than selling a standalone software product, Antares Labs embeds its AI systems directly within a client’s existing technology environment. The platform integrates with multiple foundation model providers — including AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic — and is designed to keep a client’s proprietary data inside that client’s own systems rather than centralizing it on Antares’ servers.
“Every real estate owner-operator is asking the same question right now: how do we actually put AI to work inside our business?” Ahmad said in the announcement.
What the systems target
According to the release, Antares Labs’ AI systems are built to address specific operational problems for owner-operators: accelerating investment decisions, improving lease-up pace, and predicting tenant churn before it happens. The company said results from its deployments typically appear within 30 days. Multifamily developer and operator Quarterra is listed in the release as a current customer.
Fifth Wall founder, CEO and Chief Investment Officer Brendan Wallace, whose firm counts roughly 115 major real estate companies as strategic investors — including CBRE, Hilton, Marriott and Related — was quoted framing the investment around the difficulty owner-operators face implementing AI on their own. “Nobody transforms alone,” Wallace said. “You need something actively working the plan with you, every day.”
What it means
Verified facts: Antares Labs raised $7.25 million in seed funding led by a group including Fifth Wall, and has Quarterra as a named customer for AI systems targeting investment, leasing and retention decisions.
RealtyWire analysis: Antares Labs’ embedded, forward-deployed model — placing its own engineers inside client organizations rather than shipping a self-serve software product — reflects a broader pattern among newer proptech AI startups betting that large real estate owners want customized systems built around their own data, not another dashboard to log into. With Fifth Wall’s roster of major landlord and hospitality investors behind the round, the company starts with unusually direct access to the exact customer base it’s targeting.
