Top home sale No. 1 in Raleigh Area, North Carolina β€” 742 Wimbleton Dr, Raleigh, North Carolina, week ending November 1, 2026

In Chestnut Hills, the contemporary transitional home at 742 Wimbleton Drive sold for $3,800,000, the highest price of the week. Built in 2021, it is defined by its finish work. Reclaimed hardwood floors, coved walls and arched doorways run through the main living areas, polished Carrara marble and onyx appear in the baths, and the rooms were finished without crown molding to keep the lines clean. The property last sold in 2020 for $480,000, before the current home was built.

The kitchen centers on a large island of white oak and Giotto quartzite, with Wolf and Subzero appliances. Behind a pair of reclaimed antique wood doors is a full scullery with a second refrigerator, an ice maker and a microwave drawer. The family room has a coffered ceiling and a custom fireplace, and sliding doors open to a screened porch with a stone fireplace of its own. For entertaining, there is a butler’s bar with a dual-zone wine column, and the game room has a wet bar finished in matte black and brushed gold.

The primary suite is on the first floor, under vaulted ceilings with wood beams, and looks out on the backyard. Its bath has a freestanding soaking tub set between two vanities and a walk-in shower with a bench, and the walk-in closet has its own laundry. In all, the home has five bedrooms, two of them on the main level, five full baths and a half bath, and 5,457 square feet on 0.77 acres, with a four-car garage.

Outside, an 18-by-42 pool with a tanning ledge sits in a travertine deck, with a waterfall-edge spa, a grill area and a pool bathroom with a shower. Mature landscaping gives the grounds their privacy. North Ridge Country Club is about six-tenths of a mile away, Shelly Lake and entrances to the Greenway network are nearby, and the shops and restaurants of North Hills are a few minutes off.

The home went under contract five days after it was listed and sold at its full asking price. Gretchen Coley of Compass — Raleigh and Claire Guentz of Compass — Raleigh were the listing agents, and Pablo Koe-Krompecher of Clifton Property Investment represented the buyer.
