These were the five highest-priced home sales reported in Manhattan, New York for the week ending November 1, 2026, and together they came to $54.424 million. Four of the five were condominiums and one was a single-family home, and every sale was in New York County, spread from Tribeca and Chelsea up through Midtown to Lenox Hill and the Upper East Side.
No. 1 — $21,899,000 · 740 Park Ave #6/7D, Manhattan, New York

The top sale of the week was a duplex in the building at 740 Park Avenue, the Lenox Hill landmark designed by the architect Rosario Candela and finished in fluted limestone. The apartment, on the southwest corner of the building, sold for $21,899,000. It dates to 1930 and has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, five full and two half baths.
Arrival is by a private elevator landing that opens into a rectangular gallery, where one of Candela’s curved staircases rises to the second level. Ceilings reach nearly 11 feet, and the rooms keep much of their original historic detail along with hardwood floors. Off the gallery, the corner living room and a paneled library both face south over the city, and each has a wood-burning fireplace. From the living room the view runs west over St. James’ Church toward Central Park. A conservatory links the living room to a formal dining room.
The service side is generous in its own right. A windowed eat-in kitchen sits beside a separate breakfast room, with a service pantry, a laundry room, a powder room and a staff bedroom with its own bath nearby, and a back staircase climbs directly to the bedroom floor. The apartment was once laid out as 16 rooms and now has 14.
Upstairs, the primary suite was created by joining two bedrooms. It takes the southwest corner, has the home’s third wood-burning fireplace and a windowed dressing room, and its bath includes a soaking tub, a separate shower and two sinks. Next door is a south-facing bedroom with a windowed bath and a wet bar, and three more bedrooms share two windowed baths. Each apartment in the building comes with a storage room and a wine cellar, and the staff includes full-time doormen, porters and a live-in resident manager, with a concierge and a private fitness center for residents.
