No. 2 — $900,000 · 33 Main Street, Hollis, New Hampshire

Known as the Parsonage, the home at 33 Main Street in Hollis is a Federal Colonial built in 1813 in the town center. It lies within the Hollis Historic District and is subject to the rules of the district commission. It sold for $900,000.
For 130 years the home housed the pastors of the Congregational church. The listing credits former Massachusetts Governor Endicott “Chub” Peabody with a major renovation in the early 1980s that added a solar wing, a landscaped courtyard and a garage.
Much of the early craftsmanship remains: wide-plank floors, exposed beams, handmade millwork and period fireplaces, three or more in all. There are cathedral ceilings, leaded and stained glass and a cedar closet. The rooms move from formal to informal, with a country kitchen, a solarium filled with light and a screened porch, along with bonus rooms that can serve many uses. The home has three bedrooms, two full baths and two half baths, and at 3,812 square feet it is the largest of the week’s five homes.
Outside, a picket fence and mature trees frame the half-acre lot. Paths of brick and granite run through perennial gardens to a private courtyard and a back lawn, and there is a greenhouse. The setting is in the village, with Hollis farm stands and farmland nearby and Nashua and the highways within easy reach. The property last sold in 2003 for $622,000.
The home went under contract 12 days after it was listed. Carol Birch of Coldwell Banker Realty Nashua was the listing agent, and Mikaela B Yeager-Morgan of EXP Realty represented the buyer.

With five bedrooms, it has the most bedrooms of the week’s five homes, along with four bathrooms and 3,369 square feet. The primary suite is on the first floor, under a tray ceiling, and its bath has a soaking tub, a double vanity and a tiled shower, with a walk-in closet alongside. A two-story living room with a gas fireplace opens to the kitchen and a breakfast nook, and there is a separate dining room. An office on the first floor can double as a bedroom, and three more bedrooms are upstairs.
The finished lower level adds a recreation room, an exercise room and a self-contained area for in-laws or guests, with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, its own laundry and bath, and a door to a side patio. Outdoors are a covered front porch, a back deck, a patio with a firepit, a shed and a broad yard. The property last sold in 2023 for $755,000.

Ceilings on the first floor rise to nine feet, and the living room, dining room and kitchen, which has an island, run together in one open space. That floor also has a sunroom and the laundry.
