
The five highest-priced home sales reported in the Sacramento, California metro area for the week ending October 4, 2026, totaled $14.925 million. Placer County accounted for three of them, all mountain homes, while El Dorado County and Sacramento County had one sale each.
In three of the five sales, the same agent was on both sides of the transaction.
No. 1 — $3,500,000 · 700 Olympic Valley Rd, Olympic Valley, California

The week’s top sale was a three-story mountain home in Olympic Valley, which sold for $3,500,000. From the home there are views of the surrounding mountains, the meadow and Red Dog Ridge at Palisades Tahoe. The home is across from the paved bike path that runs between the resort and Tahoe City, and Lake Tahoe is about seven miles away.
Inside, the living room rises to a cathedral ceiling, with a full-height steel fireplace and a custom chandelier. The kitchen beside it has a large island topped in quartz, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Wolf range and double ovens. Beyond the great room are an upstairs loft that can serve as a den or office, a game room with a wet bar and a walk-in wine cellar.
The renovation brought in a few ski-country touches. The stair handrail is made from real chairlift cable, and a vintage chairlift hangs above the stairwell. Doors are solid alder, the railings and metalwork are custom steel, and the primary bathroom has a copper soaking tub and heated floors. The home has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a half bath, and 3,919 square feet of living space, with two decks and a three-car attached garage on a 10,454-square-foot lot. The property last sold for $1.041 million in 2017.

No. 2 — $2,950,000 · 4820 Sacramento Ave, Homewood, California

On Lake Tahoe’s West Shore, a custom mountain home on Sacramento Avenue in Homewood sold for $2,950,000. Public lake access is two blocks down the street, and Homewood Ski Resort is about half a mile from the home.
Built in 2004, the three-story home has 3,633 square feet, four full bathrooms and a half bath, and five bedrooms, the most of any home in this week’s group. The interior follows an open plan under vaulted ceilings, with broad expanses of windows bringing in daylight. There are two decks and a two-car attached garage on the 0.42-acre lot, and out back the yard is large and flat, with a fire pit. The property last sold for $1.9 million in 2018.

No. 3 — $2,875,000 · 290 Saint Regis Ct, El Dorado Hills, California

In Serrano, the guard-gated country club community in El Dorado Hills, a contemporary home built in 2024 sold for $2,875,000. The two-story home is on a cul-de-sac, and its main level looks out through walls of glass toward Folsom Lake and the Sacramento Valley.
Lee Luxury Homes built the home, which has 4,449 square feet, four bedrooms and six bathrooms on 0.61 acres. The kitchen and great room are centered on a fireplace beneath high ceilings. The home also has a bar area, a temperature-controlled wine cellar and a butler’s pantry. The primary suite is on the main level, placed to take in the views, and there is a guest bedroom with its own bath as well as a dedicated office. Upstairs, a loft-style family room adds flexible space, and the solar system is owned.
Large sliding doors open to a covered dining area, an outdoor kitchen, the pool and spa, and a fire pit. The fenced pool is gas-heated, and the home has a three-car attached garage with an electric-vehicle charging station. Serrano has hiking and biking trails through the hills, and its country club offers golf, tennis and pickleball courts, a fitness center and dining. The property last sold for $432,500 in 2020, before the current home was built.

A mountain home with lake views on Skyline Drive, in the Sunnyside-Tahoe City neighborhood of Tahoe City, sold for $2,850,000. Known as Lake of the Sky, the home comes with access to the Tahoe Park homeowners association’s amenities: a private beach, two shared piers, a playground and lawns beside the lake.
Built in 1969, the three-story home has 2,658 square feet, four bedrooms and three bathrooms on a 0.68-acre lot that runs from street to street. The main level is open, and the living room has a fireplace. The kitchen has granite counters and stainless-steel appliances, with counter seating as well as a separate dining area. The primary suite has a level to itself. Downstairs, a family room with a Murphy bed is next to a bedroom with its own bath.
Outside are a large deck with a built-in barbecue and a covered hot tub. The property last sold for $679,000 in 2003.

Built in 1964, the home has 5,553 square feet, four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Its front is faced in repurposed brick, and inside is custom stained glass made by local artist Mickey Abbey. There are three wood-burning brick fireplaces and a dumbwaiter. The kitchen has premium appliances, and a game and entertainment lounge has a full-size bar. The home also includes an office, a fitness studio and a temperature-controlled wine cellar.
Mature trees and winding paths lead through the grounds to a fountain and a gazebo, and the property also has a garden house, a greenhouse, a pergola and a dog run. There is a pool with a spa, along with a sauna. On the water, the property has a private boathouse, a dock and a boat lift along the S-curve of the Sacramento River. The three-car garage includes a workshop, and there is room to park an RV.
