A Gulf-front home on Don Pedro Island, a bridgeless barrier island reached from Placida by ferry or boat, sold for $1.40 million, the highest-priced home sale publicly reported in the Punta Gorda, Florida metro area for the week ending August 16, 2026.

The week’s five highest-priced closings combined for $5.80 million. They span Placida and Punta Gorda, running from the Gulf beach on Don Pedro Island to canal lots in Punta Gorda Isles and a golf-course street in Webbs Reserve, at Babcock Ranch. Build years reach from 1990 to 2024, and water frontage recurs across the group: a tip lot with more than 230 feet of frontage, 173 feet of sailboat-access canal frontage, and 105 feet of waterfront with a dock and lift.
