Cleveland, Ohio Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: 1929 Bainbridge Stone Cottage Tops the Week at $2.73 Million

The 1929 stone house at 8061 Chagrin Rd sold for $2,725,000, the top price among five home sales reported across the Cleveland metro area for the week of September 21 through September 27, 2026, a group that together accounted for $7.32 million. The four-bedroom, five-bath house sits on seven acres in the Bainbridge community and previously changed hands for $900,000 in 2023.

The week’s other sales reach from the eastern suburbs to the Lake Erie shoreline: a custom house just completed in Beachwood, a six-bedroom residence on a ravine lot in Willoughby’s Sherwin Woods Estates, a remodeled lakefront home at Roaming Shores and a four-level condominium on the water in Sheffield Lake. The oldest was built in 1929 and the newest was finished this year.

No. 1 — $2,725,000 · 8061 Chagrin Rd, Chagrin Falls, Ohio

Top home sale No. 1 in the Cleveland, Ohio metro area β€” 8061 Chagrin Rd, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, week ending September 27, 2026

Stone pillars and a drive of Belgian block granite mark the approach to 8061 Chagrin Rd, a four-bedroom, five-bath house built in 1929 on seven acres of McFarland Creek frontage, at a Chagrin Falls address in the Bainbridge community. The great room rises to a tall ceiling with leaded glass windows and the original fireplace, and period wainscoting and wrought iron remain intact. The kitchen is finished in Calacatta Vagli marble with handmade Zellige tile, and a first-floor primary suite has a marble bath inlaid with mother of pearl. A sunroom designed by an architect, a second-floor sitting room and a finished third-floor retreat extend the plan, and the house sold substantially furnished.

Since 2023 the owners have carried out a full systems modernization, restored the slate roof and rebuilt the property’s bridge to engineer specifications. The original below-grade garage was buried and replaced with a new one at grade, with a framed suite above it left ready to finish. New stone steps descend to the creek beside a patio and firepit.

The $2,725,000 sale was completed September 24, 2026, and it put Annalie Glazen of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty on the listing side of the highest-priced home sale reported in the Cleveland metro area that week. The property previously changed hands for $900,000 in 2023, and Glazen has one earlier Top 5 appearance in the Cleveland metro area. Lisa Cole of Engel & VΓΆlkers Distinct represented the buyer.

Top home sale No. 2 in the Cleveland, Ohio metro area β€” 25428 Bryden Rd, Beachwood, Ohio, week ending September 27, 2026

A custom house just completed on a wooded one-acre parcel at 25428 Bryden Rd in Beachwood closed on September 21, 2026 for $1,450,000.

Listing materials identify Dommus Construction as the builder; the five-bedroom, five-bath residence was finished in 2026 and carries a reported 4,000 square feet. Coffered ceilings, exposed beams and custom built-ins run through the main rooms, and a floating staircase in real wood anchors the open plan. Every bath is laid out with detailed tile work, and the kitchen is built around a large center island with JennAir Professional Line appliances and a walk-in pantry.

A front porch faces the street, and a raised covered porch at the rear looks out over the mature trees on the parcel. The lower level takes daylight from oversized garden windows and is left unfinished for a future recreation room, gym or media room. The parcel previously changed hands for $400,000 in 2025, before the current residence was completed in 2026.

Mike Wold of RE/MAX Revealty represented the listing side of the transaction, the second-highest reported home sale in the metro for the week. Susan Lenahan of Howard Hanna represented the buyer.

The three-story entry opens through an eight-foot double stained glass door onto a marble floor, and a two-story great room is built around a fireplace wall with floor-to-ceiling windows. The kitchen holds two dishwashers, a double oven, an eight-burner Thermador gas cooktop and an L-shaped breakfast bar seating six, next to a breakfast room with a 20-foot buffet area.

A first-floor bedroom with a full bath sits below a second-floor primary suite and two bedrooms joined by a jack-and-jill bath, and the lower level adds two more bedrooms and a 36-foot great room with a brick fireplace wall and sliding doors to a patio.
