Top home sale No. 1 in Chippewa Valley, Wisconsin β€” 5500 Harold Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, week ending November 1, 2026

The week’s top sale, at $750,000, was also the newest of the five homes: a one-story Eau Claire home built in 2009 and set among mature woods on a one-acre lot. Signature Homes custom designed and built it.

Yellow birch floors run through the open main level, where the kitchen, dining area and living room share one space under nine-foot ceilings. The kitchen has custom maple cabinets by Thorcraft and granite and quartz countertops, and it is open to the dining area and to a stone fireplace with gas logs. The main level also includes a four-season room, warmed by heat in the floor, that takes in the wooded setting through the year.

The primary bedroom is on the main floor, with a vaulted ceiling and its own bath that has a soaking tub and a walk-in shower. The lower level, with high ceilings and look-out windows, adds two more bedrooms, a full bath, a family room and a flex space. In all, the home has three bedrooms, two full baths and a half bath, and 3,118 square feet.

Outside are a composite deck, a paved patio, a fire pit and a retractable electric awning. The heated three-car garage is 27 feet deep, with eight-foot overhead doors and a stairway directly to the lower level. The property last sold for $45,000 in 2008, before the current home was built.

The home went under contract six days after it was listed and sold at its full asking price. Bob Ritsch of RE/MAX Results~Eau Claire was the listing agent, and Kevin Escher of Escher Real Estate represented the buyer.

Top home sale No. 2 in Chippewa Valley, Wisconsin β€” 4110 / 4160 Folsom Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, week ending November 1, 2026

The oldest home in this Top 5, built in 1930, stands on 17.89 acres in the town of Union, the largest piece of land among the five. According to the listing, it has been in the Lewis family for more than 150 years.

The sale, for $650,000, took in more than one home. Along with the main home, it included a two-bedroom ranch-style home with a full unfinished basement and its own main-floor laundry, as well as a pole shed, a barn and garden sheds.

The main home has three bedrooms, four bathrooms and 3,100 square feet. It has a zero-step entry, and its doors are 36 inches wide and accessible throughout. The kitchen and dining room came later as an addition, and large windows in the living room look out over the land. Upstairs there is a loft or den, two more bedrooms and a full bath. The lower level walks out and has a den or office and a bathroom. The home also has a wood-burning stove and a central vacuum system.
