The five highest-priced home sales reported in Carbondale-Marion & Lake of Egypt, Illinois for the week ending October 25, 2026 came to a combined $1.91 million. Two of the homes are in Vienna, two are in Marion and one is in Goreville, and three of the five are in Johnson County.
All five are single-family homes, built between 1976 and 2008, and every one of them has a two-car garage. The list runs from working country land to neighborhoods such as Summerfield Estates, Mulberry Hills and Durham Fox Hollow.
No. 1 — $530,400 · 2825 Buncombe Rd, Vienna, Illinois
The top sale of the week was a home on 42.83 acres along Buncombe Road in Vienna, which sold for $530,400. The land is a mix of pasture and woods on sloping ground, and the property has a pond, a dock, a shed and an outbuilding.
Built in 2005, the home has 2,600 square feet, three bedrooms and three bathrooms, two full and one half. Its living room rises to an 18-foot ceiling and has a gas-log fireplace, while ceilings elsewhere in the home are 9 feet. The kitchen has a breakfast nook, and there is a formal dining room. The primary suite is on the main level. Upstairs, two more bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and that floor also has a large bonus room, a study and an office.
