No. 5 — $1,070,000 · 145 Clover Hill Ln, North Barrington, Illinois

Top home sale No. 5 in Barrington & Northwest Suburbs, Illinois β€” 145 Clover Hill Ln, North Barrington, Illinois, week ending October 25, 2026

The land at 145 Clover Hill Lane in North Barrington was once part of an apple orchard surrounded by farmland, and the traditional home built there in 1991 sold for $1,070,000. The property, in the Clover Hill Farms neighborhood of Lake County, went under contract 13 days after it was listed. It last sold in 2020 for $515,000.

Stone and cedar cover the exterior, and a bluestone walk leads to the door. The home sits on 1.85 acres on a cul-de-sac, with mature trees, landscaped grounds, a waterfall and a firepit area. It has five bedrooms, four baths and 4,386 square feet.

The current owners have reworked much of the interior in recent years. The renovated kitchen, designed by Insignia Kitchens of Barrington, centers on a quartzite island 17 feet long with seating for six, set off by handmade blue Zellige tile and a honed marble chevron backsplash inlaid with brass. White oak floors run across the main level, and a curved staircase with iron balusters rises from the entry. A step-down living room leads to a family room with a stacked limestone fireplace and two sets of glass doors to a large deck. Off the main rooms is a screened porch with knotty-pine walls and ceiling, open beams and windows on three sides.

Upstairs, the primary suite has a cathedral ceiling, a sitting room with an antique fireplace, two walk-in closets and a white clawfoot tub set in a bay. The walkout lower level was finished with as much care as the floors above: slate floors with bronze insets, a knotty-pine ceiling carried on pine-trunk beams, a fieldstone fireplace and a wine cellar with Venetian plaster walls. Its bar is built from an antique back bar from Eagle River, Wisconsin, and an old post-office counter. The deep garage holds three and a half cars, and the property is in the Lake Zurich school district.

Lori Rowe of Coldwell Banker Realty was the listing agent, and Kristiana Yordanova, also of Coldwell Banker Realty, represented the buyer. The sale was one of three in this Top 5 listed by Coldwell Banker Realty.
