Akron, Ohio Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Hudson Holds the Top Three, Led by a $1.70 Million Six-Acre Property

A historic barn moved to 7340 Valley View Rd in 1997 and reassembled as a 42-by-30-foot great room anchors the 1955 Hudson house that led the Akron, Ohio metro area’s reported home sales for the week ending September 20, 2026. The four-bedroom property, fenced across six acres of pasture and woods, changed hands September 18, 2026 for $1.70 million. The metro’s five highest reported sales for the week came to $5.86 million.

The two Hudson closings behind it are an 1876 Folk-Gothic Victorian in the historic village and a 1991 colonial in Canterbury on the Lakes; the list then moves to Woodview Estates in Aurora and to Rosemont Retreat in Akron, where the week’s fifth sale was a home marketed as still to be built. Kathryn Madio of Keller Williams Living held the listings on two of this week’s five sales.

A stone fireplace anchors the room, and a loft above it has its own bath and can serve as a primary suite or guest quarters. The six-acre parcel is fenced and holds a saltwater pool, an in-ground hot tub, a heated pathway and a second barn suited to horse stables, workshop or storage. A 26-gauge Grade 50 metal roof went on in 2026, carrying a high UV-reflective coating, an Energy Star rating, a specialized underlayment system and a 40-year manufacturer warranty.
