These are the five highest-priced home sales reported in Duluth-Superior & North Shore, Minnesota and Wisconsin for the week ending November 1, 2026, and together they came to $3.441 million.
Water runs through most of the list. Three of the homes come with private frontage on inland lakes, from a quiet bay near Lutsen to the edge of the Boundary Waters outside Ely, and a fourth looks out over Lake Superior from Tofte. The sales were spread across Cook, Saint Louis and Lake counties, and the group includes four single-family homes and one condominium, a townhome in Duluth.
No. 1 — $805,000 · 38 Sawmill Ln, Lutsen, Minnesota

The week’s top sale is a lakefront home in Lutsen that sold for $805,000. It sits on Sawmill Bay, part of Caribou Lake, along a quiet dead-end road, and a winding drive lined with mature sugar maples leads to it. The 2.81-acre property is wooded with spruce and cedar, with raspberry patches and spring wildflowers among the trees. At the water there is a gravel shoreline that is easy to walk down to, a dock and a firepit beside the lake.
Built in 2000 in a traditional style, the home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,380 square feet of living space. Large windows on the lake side bring in the light, and the floors are hardwood and tile under vaulted ceilings. A freestanding woodstove warms the main living space. The kitchen has been updated and has an island and cabinets with glass fronts. Bedrooms are on the upper level, and the finished lower level adds a family room. A hallway leads out to a three-season gazebo built with timber framing, and there is a detached two-car garage. The property last sold for $760,000 in 2024.
Inger Andress of Edina Realty, Inc. – Lutsen was the listing agent for the week’s highest-priced sale.

No. 2 — $754,000 · 96 Hoaglund Dr, Tofte, Minnesota

Lake Superior fills the view from this home in Tofte, which sold for $754,000. The panorama takes in the big lake from much of the interior, and the primary suite has its own balcony for watching the sun come up over the water. Built in 2006 on 2.17 acres, the home has 4,008 square feet of living space, five bedrooms and four bathrooms, the most living space and the most bedrooms and bathrooms of any home in this week’s Top 5.
The interior pairs North Woods materials with modern finishes: slate and wood floors, pine ceilings, wrought-iron railings, granite countertops and custom maple cabinets. In-floor heating and a wood stove keep it warm through the winter, and a solar-panel system was added recently. A room on the main level can work as an office, a study or a spare bedroom.
The finished walkout lower level was first planned as a mother-in-law suite. It has two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a bathroom and a large family room, enough for guests or relatives to live on their own. A detached three-car garage has space for vehicles, storage and a workshop. From Tofte, hiking trails, paddling, golf and the ski runs at Lutsen Mountains are all within convenient reach.

No. 4 — $647,000 · 231 Hickory St, Duluth, Minnesota

The newest home in this week’s Top 5, and its only condominium, is a 2013 townhome in the Bluff’s Ridge community of Duluth Heights that sold for $647,000. It stands on a landscaped corner lot backed by the mature woods along Chester Creek, and a private paved walking trail starts just steps from both the front door and the lower-level walkout.
Its best room is a sunroom set up among the treetops, which the sellers nicknamed the treehouse, a place for reading or watching birds in the woods outside in any season. The rest of the daily routine happens on the main level: the primary suite, the kitchen, dining, laundry and a living area under vaulted ceilings, plus a guest bedroom. The kitchen has cherry cabinets and solid stone countertops, and natural wood trim, heavy millwork and six-panel doors run through the home.
In all there are four bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,767 square feet of living space. The finished walkout lower level has nine-foot ceilings, a large family room with a gas fireplace and two more bedrooms. Outside are an upper deck and a patio below it, and there is an attached two-car garage. The property last sold for $625,500 in 2024.
The townhome went under contract 23 days after it was listed. Brittany Kuschel of Kuschel Realty Group LLC was the listing agent, and Casey Knutson Carbert of Edmunds Company, LLP represented the buyer.

Snowbank Lake, outside Ely, is half inside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and this cabin on its shore looks across the water into the wilderness. It sold for $550,000. The property has about 275 feet of shoreline with a mix of sand, gravel and rock, a dock and a spot to launch a boat, all on 1.17 level, heavily wooded acres. Snowbank holds lake trout, walleye, northern pike and both largemouth and smallmouth bass, and motors are limited to 25 horsepower on its north half.
Built in 1976, the rustic cabin stands about 50 feet from the water. It is the oldest and smallest home in this week’s Top 5, with 864 square feet of living space, three bedrooms and one bathroom. Tongue-and-groove paneling covers the walls, and the living room, dining area and kitchen share one open space under vaulted ceilings.
