Top home sale No. 1 in the Charlotte metro area β€” 440 Beech Tree Rd, Mooresville, North Carolina, week ending October 18, 2026

The top sale of the week was a gated estate of 33.60 acres in Mooresville, with wooded privacy, manicured grounds and direct frontage on Lake Norman. The property has its own dock and a private beach, and the record notes water views in every season.

Architect Harry Schrader designed the home and Arcadia Homes built it in 2015. It is a two-story home of brick, block and stone with 8,774 square feet of living space, five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, six full and two half. Inside, the plan is open, with a see-through gas fireplace, a kitchen island and a walk-in pantry, and a finished basement adds more room below.

Much of the life of the place is outdoors. There is a heated saltwater pool with a turf surround and a detached pool house, and the grounds also include an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, a fire pit, a patio and porches at the front and rear. The property also has garage space for four cars.

Josh Tucker and Joseph Adams of Corcoran HM Properties were the listing agents for the $9,200,000 sale, the highest-priced of the week. Lisa Muesing of Ivester Jackson Christie’s represented the buyer.

The second-highest sale was a double penthouse at Watermark in Cornelius that takes up the entire sixth floor of one of the community’s buildings. An elevator opens directly into the residence, a condominium built in 2021 in a modern, transitional style with 6,328 square feet, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, five full and two half.

The living room centers on a two-sided gas fireplace and opens both to the kitchen and to a covered terrace 41 feet long, where oversized stacking sliders, remote-controlled sunshades and an outdoor cooking area with a wet bar extend the living space outside. The kitchen has two islands, a 60-inch Wolf gas range and a separate scullery that doubles as a walk-in pantry. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining area look over the pool.

Set on the golf course at Ballantyne Country Club in Charlotte, this home looks out over the club’s 13th hole, along with a pond crossed by a wooden bridge. Christopher Phelps designed it and Simonini Builders built it in 2003, which makes it the oldest home in this week’s group. The transitional home has stucco and stone walls outside and 9,010 square feet inside, with seven bedrooms, the most of any home this week, and eight bathrooms, seven full and one half. The kitchen was updated in 2023 with Taj Mahal quartzite counters, and the dining room has a custom coffered ceiling. On the main floor, the primary bedroom and a guest suite sit on opposite sides of the home, and a study with tall windows is next to the primary bedroom.
